Hello my fellow GT5P'ers

Like you I visit this site far too often in the vain hope that there will be some announcement of an update or a snippet of new tracks/cars to look at.

I think it would be a super idea if PD would keep us all interested and extremely happy/excited if via a download they could let us have one new car per week (perhaps on a Friday morning so we can drive it all weekend) with an on-line one make race with that car.

An then perhaps on the last Friday of each month they could let us have one new track to race on?

This way we would all be happy driving the new car and racing together in a one make race series and how excited would we all be all day on Friday knowing that their will be a new car for us to drive when we get home.

On month end you'd be like 'wow I'm going to have a new track to blast around this weekend' can't wait.

This I feel would keep the game alive and will re-ignite the excitement we all had when the Prologue game came out. To be quite honest with you I'm not bored with the game yet as I think its amazing but i want to say WOW like my friends do when they see it for the first time and they have a go on it. (I'm talking about GT5P now ladies :) ).

What do you all think?

They would never release anything that fast.

Plus they would probably give us more BS stuff because they want to hold the good stuff for the full game. They will never release the ring for prologue, that's their cash-cow course. If they give us anything else, it will probably be like the 1894 motor carriage and a drag strip. Although really a drag stip would be kind of awesome...

Oleg Maddox used to do that for the flight sim IL2 Sturmovik. Back then there was a so called friday update with 3d models of new planes in developement, objects, maps and so on. It was nice but I don't think Kazunori Yamauchi will do this. OM used to post in the forums and his contact with the community was much closer than that of KY. We can only hope :)

As I've said it before, I rather have no more updates at all until the full GT5 is finnished and polished..

You must be very patient then. :p And you do understand that by bringing these updates and changes that GT5 will be finished and polished? We're test-subjects here you know! ;) I for one am quite happy with the updates and would like to see more. :)

a drag strip would be so cool...👍👍👍

1 car a week would be pushing it...
sounds like a good idea though

keep in mind that GT5P isn't a full game.
if they did release 1 car a week and 1 track a month on GT5P,
they might as well release GT5 in a couple of months!

Yeah, but I want that "This is sick!!!!!" moment as when you played GT3 or GT4 for the first time.

EDIT: But i guess it doesn't matter.. :)

Anyway, an update every week would be too much!

All I want is Nurburgring, I've never raced on it in any game before and want to see how difficult and fun it really is.

how many of you actually drove every single car in GT4? I know i only drove 30-40% of the cars. And in GT5:P i only drive the cars i like.. maybe if i am really bored i will make an attempt to drive each car on each track for at least 5-6 laps.. how long would that take?!

Ususally what inspired me to go and drive a different car is when i saw one on the road or on tv, and i wondered "what would it be like to drive it" and then i would just drive it on the ring for 1-2 laps and that would be my "ultimate test drive" Some cars are just so good i keep going back to them because i love how they drive/feel M3 GTR is a perfect example i always try to replicate Hans Shtuk's (sp.?) drive that was immortalized on the internet.

Short answer to your questions is, yes it would be awesome if we got updates. But personally i still need to go and drive each individual car before i can ask for more cars. More tracks though... absolutely!

Also i would much rather have world class racetracks like laguna/infenion then some city track with flat/no elevation changes and 90 degree turns. (seattle is an exception) Sure they look cool, but they are really boring to race on.

I only need one car - the GT40. Okay two - I'd really like a Cateram too but what I really want to see is at least half a dozen tracks. I can live without the ring if they chucked in Laguna, Trial mountain, Infineon, Grand Valley and a couple of other of those kind of tracks. I know a lot of people like daytona and HSR but they're not my cup of tea (tried HSR tonight and kept falling asleep) so, for me there's only two tracks in prologue where I can open up a 750pp monster and let rip - london being too small and Eiger feels too 'rally'

My fingers are crossed that, come autumn, I'll have more than Suzuka and Fuji to play on.

Some tracks in GT5p were pointless for me, but I felt in love with them, because I have to drive them as there are only few tracks.

That's a fact...
Some tracks I hated in the beginning,
but having no choice I just drove them...
And with all that practice I was getting better and now I love them too

I felt that way about Fuji and, to a lesser degree, Suzuka. I hated Fuji because of all the off-camber rubbish (which I've learned to love) and I disliked Suzuka, mainly because of degner and casio which I have also learned to love.

But at least those two tracks are my idea of a racetrack. Daytona is Nascar Style - heavy emphasis on slipstream. HSR is the same with a couple of long drawn out corners to make it seem less like the oval it actually is, racing on those two both annoys and bores me in equal measure. More power to you if you like this kind of racing - I happen not to.

If I was stuck with London 750pp I would get into it, I'm sure, but it's very small and very slow and, for that reason, I'd never choose to race there if I had another option.

Eiger has potential but, again, there are a couple of really slow, rally-like, sections that a GT or Viper have to tiptoe around, It's more one for the 4wd's which I try my best not to drive.

I guess I'm just picky with my racing - 750 or more pp and RWD on an F1 class track and I'm happy. I've tried slower races and enjoyed them to an extent but it doesn't last long before I feel the need to go fast.

The Tahiti Maze rally track and a few rally cars to go along with it. That would be a great addition to brighten up the game.
I think we might get Nurburgring in the Autumn update. Wishfull thinking maybe, but i've got a feeling we may just get it.

After this latest update I find myself playing GT4 in 1080i. It is actually a lot better than GTP in many regards, this is of course solely IMO. The graphics of the new GT are Outstanding but the physics and feel are a little foreign to me still. I also cannot yet stand the online play and the lack of a cool format that GT4 came with like the many tune shops/ drag strip/ used car shops and ability to navigate to different regions and races. I hope that the GT5 is near this in its final form. The online play needs to be better! If it doesn't get better I can say that this may be the first time I don't buy the next edition of Gran Turismo.... That would suck but I don't want to feel like I wasted my money like I do with GT5P after online play.

I won't be able to stop playing GT If PD is gonna release Trial Mountain and Laguna Seca in the coming Fall Update! I love racing on these two tracks extremely much ever since they appeared in the GT series!

Keep dreaming. Nurburgring will never see prologue.

Amen, which is why i eventually hated 600PP Suzuka with a passion whilst everyone else here was obsessed with it i just couldn't see why it was any fun because it was like a slowed down 750 Suzuka with less competition because less people could drive it effectively.

I'm not a big fan of Laguna Seca but I do love Trial Mountain, it's a complex course that has a bit of everything in it...I'm also a fan of blind corners and flowing tracks, high speed corners into hairpin's aswell. Is it strange to like blind corners??:odd:
Cheers,

There's a corner on Trial Mountain, just before you enter the tunnel and the long downhill straight which me and my mates call 'coffee corner' cos that's when you have enough time to take a drink of your coffee before getting back to the driving business :D
