Well as the title says im really interested in moving to England. But the problem is i dont know anybody there. So I was hoping you guys can tell me how the life is there and whats nice about it.How are the prices? Is it easy to find jobs and live normally? You know just some stuff that will make me want to move there even more lol. If all goes well, when I visit my uncle in France maybe later this year we could go to England for a few days since its about 30€ to ride that train that goes under the English Channel into England :) . Thanks for helping me on this one guys 👍

The prices suck, jobs don't exist and the people are all haters.

Move to Wales instead. ;)

Just kidding, where exactly are you moving to, do you know?

im not sure exactly where in the UK. I just wanna be somewhere around London thats why i need info on the life and stuff ha. I just want to be on my own have some nice apartment there and be happy. I think it all started from watching the "Naked Chef" on the Food Network and watching him making his way around the city and stuff lol.

Very tricky. If you move to London your going to struggle depending on what work you can do. If you rent a property it's also going to be very expensive, in excess of £800 a month for a flat. Your probably better off moving into the Essex area which is in close proximity to London. You can then get the train into London for work.

Essex is currently under a alot of improvement with lots of new companies opening HQ's. Call centre jobs are a plenty and you won't need any qualifications and they usually train you. If your a good salesman there are always plenty of options. Last resort, McDonalds is always recruting. :)

Life in England is expensive, and you will pay tax on pretty much everything you buy. There are plenty of friendly people about and if you work in the city of London you wiill see there are many people who have come to England for a particular job.

Good Luck with your decision.

London is the greatest city in the world (IMO). If you are either willing to work hard at anything, or have a particular skill/qualification, then you will have no problem finding work. Rent is expensive but everything else is standard compared to the money you earn. Good luck 👍

I agree with everything, apart from moving to Essex :yuck: . But it is a viable alternative to living in London if you don't want to pay the high rent prices. Or you could try living on the outskirts. Also commuting is by public transport is expensive (and unreliable sometimes), car insurance for young people is expensive, also you'd need to take your driving test again which will take a while in London as most driving test centers have 4 month waiting lists, although outside London it isn't so bad. Also petrol is damn expensive and certain areas of London (mainly central areas that you wouldn't want to drive in daily, but the area is increasing) are chargeable to drive in. Also most people are friendly (unless you live in the ghetto, well incredibly poor areas) and of every race.

So if you want to live in London, bring money.

thanks for all the help guys. Yeah I might have to make tons of trips there to get a taste of things. I already planned on bringing a lot of money just so I can live good for about a year or so then start finding somewhere to work. Thanks again for all the help.

We have Nectar points. They're pretty good. 52% of our days are "overcast". On the upside, we have Argos, with the Laminated Book of Dreams.

Move to Cardiff instead...They have a better stadium :D:D:D:D:D:D

Arizona is hot...And well the UK is bloody freezing!

Don't move to Wales or else you'll be laughed at by the British. Mostly because of the connection between the Welsh and the sheep, you really don't want to know so just don't go there.

i lived in seattle for 11 years so i know what cold is. So ill just wait for more replies until some of you can tell me a good area to move lol. Thanks for the feedback.

I hate lamb possibly for that reason I don't know :dunce:
We'll also ignore the 11-9 incident, it would take too long to write the excuses :P

Bill Bailey is funny.

Excuses, what a surprise...

Move to Yorkshire if you want, just there's no motorways up that way so train is your only real option.

No Motorways in Yorkshire?

M1, M62, M621, M18, A1 (M).

How many motorways are there in Wales? Oh yes, that'd be the one they extended your way recently, because football team buses don't like driving on donkey tracks to the "Millennium Stadium"... Pah!

Speaking of motorways, one of the truly great things about the UK is...

Little Chef.

Apparently they were all built years ago on leylines, and the roads just came along later and connected them all up.

Laminated book of dreams has gotta be one of the funniest parts of that standup. He has the most manic, funny-voice ever. The BBC news theme section was pure excellence. [/offtopic]

There's one upside of moving to the UK, you get Bill Bailey on tap, so to speak,

The UK is nice. It's not nasty, it's not great. It's nice. I don't think i'd choose to move anywhere else as there are many opportunities for whatever you're into and it's not overly rough, or misserable. You get a pretty changable climate, which is fun.

:grumpy:
I hope you get caught at the Port Talbot speed cameras.

All the motorways pretty much skirt around Yorkshire. And the M621 doesn't count :D.

The M1 scythes through Yorkshire and finishes at the A1(M) IN North Yorkshire. The A1/A1(M) goes right through Yorkshire north to south (or south to north) and the M62 impales it west/east. The M18 and M621 are contained entirely within Yorkshire.

They have Speed Cameras in Port Talbot? Were there complaints about children running too fast on the pavement or something?

No, they found they had to reduce the speed limit due to the smog that frequentley covered Port Talbot.

What self respecting kid runs in Port Talbot...they all steal cars instead.

lmao ur all crackin me up !!!
Dnt move to blummin Birmingham tho its so poo, only gud thing about the city is the football team,
:bowdown: Birmingham City FC boo yehh!!:bowdown: If i was u i would jus stay in America its too cold here and lately its been 'tryin' to snow but it dosn't stick at all. I heard its better in other areas of the country so jus stay away from brum!!
