I know, I know. If I have to ask, it probably isn't, but nonetheless. I was checking my gmail account and a link to this was there. Hell, if it is legit, I'd be better off buying that instead of a controller.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't ask "How legit", I'd ask "How safe".

And my answer would probably be positive. Not.

Sounds good but I wouldn't trust it, sorry but that looks dodgey to me.

It's legit, you just have to fill out a ton of surveys and probably subscribe to a couple of services. I wouldn't do it though, you'll be inundated with junk mail and telemarketer calls...although you will have your PS3.

TB's link is different though, it's offering you a PS3 for an actual price. The ones you're talking about always advertise as free.

If you look on the FAQ page it lays it out a bit better. http://www.1cheapps3.com/faq.php

FAQ
Why is this Playstation3 System so cheap?

We get paid through our network of sponsors for every survey you fill out. This gives us the purchasing power necessary to pass these large discounts on to you.

Pyramid scheme! Its legit, but by the time you get the PS3, the PS6 will be out!

You sign up, then you get your mates to sign up and refer you, then their mates sign up and refer them, etc, etc, etc.

Then EVENTUALLY you will get your PS3.

Not worth the time or effort

Seems really pointless just to get hold of a refurbed system, there are probably better pyramid schemes to get new ones! :sly:

Even if it is legit you don't know what region the system is, which can affect your firmware updates and some Blu-Ray titles.

That and it is a spam bait.

:nervous:Getting stuff like that in my email always gives me a "quivering" sensation in the seat of my pants. That sixth sense where you can feel the !@$!@$ing coming. Not worth it.:indiff:

It´s really easy to "trick the system", if you will; just get yourself a bogus e-mail adress and sign up! They can spam you all they want, and you´ll never see it.
Of course you´d have to check your mail until you have the system, but then...
