the subject speaks for itself, ive been working on drifting for a few days, and im seeing some progress, how long did it take u to start drifting good? also, ive read the guide but still need some help keeping myself sideways, tips?

After a month when I first started playing, I got my ZZII and I was drifting 1000 times better than before I got my ZZII. now after another month, I can drift practically any car and I barely even think when I take corners now.

It took me about one month. I was drifting on and off though. I didn't dedicate myself to drifting at one time. I probably spent about 8 hours each week practicing with my Skyline :)

it took me about 1 week to drift good enough to drift the whole turn at apricot hill race way (you know what turn I'm talking about) I could show you guys but I got nobody to host my video.:banghead:

oh and I did it with a DS2 controller;)

it took me weeks! it was with the trueno ss on apricot hill and trial mtn. lsd accel and decel were VERY low and tires were set up for elongated braking entrances. other cars became more driftable after the 86 experience, especially the "victory yellow FD3S" >.< it took even more months after that to compile perfect 1 lap replay database=45 files! it was well worth the time, now i have something to put on my college resume! right?

I couldn't be bothered learning. What exactly are the benefits of drifting? Does it actually help your race times or is it just some cool, new phase?

it is very cool and fun, it is not a new phase drifting has been around for a long time and its here to stay

about 2 weeks with the S13 (after wacthing Gran Dorifto) . and then RX-7's RZ and RS and i was off. drifting with almost every JDM FR car :D. i still yet have to conquer LM race cars.

drifting has been around since b4 i was born, my dads been doing it for years, but he cant really pull one off in his new car (98 camaro SS) ive been using the regular trueno for a few hours, its easeir. ive been watching the zzII, anybody got a good noobie drifter setup for the zzII?

i saw the vid where u are drifting that zzII (the red one i believe) and u use no countersteer, as u said in the worlds worst drifter thread.

DRFT*, if the vid is under 19 megs, ill host it for like 2 weeks. if its even less than that, ill host as long as i can.

took me a while and I'm still not that great...I still can't drift all of the Complex string without spinning out and ending up in the grass or sand like 100 times hehe, but I can drift all the other courses pretty well.

i use power oversteer (i think thats what its called) and i cant seem to drift without being introduced to the grass or the wall, i need help :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
any tips
note:ive already read the guide

try feint drifting, that's the style I use the most and I find it to be alot easier than power oversteer

I've been learning how to drift for over a year now. All you showoffs saying 1 week :P Liarrsss :P

In reply to Suprafly:
when your using power oversteer start from as far outside as u can go and turn towards the inside until the car is rather close to the inside rail... or whatever... and then start ur countersteering... on the exit the countersteer is what keeps you from the grass. Gonna have to cut the angle rather sharp to avoid the grass. I suggest breaking drifts tho if the drifts are short.. longer drifts can be feinted... but power oversteer can be a pain and not really usefull unless ur actually racing someone

like a month but as soon as i got the hang of it i got really good with in 2 or 3 days but i cant ****ing drift 4WD:mad:

pop the game in and thought i can do it........after seeing the jun supra drift. 6 to 10 min. i use the supra than the skyline than etc.
