How long did it take you to learn the Nordschleife?

Been learning it since GT6. I tend to be good enough at it that I'm able to beat the gold target in CEs without too much hassle but nowhere near good enough to actually race on it with other people. I find that when it comes to this track, particularly for me anyway, been able to beat the gold time in CE gives me a false sense of confidence and then I go race against other people there and I'm absolutely nowhere. No pace whatsoever, making lots of mistakes etc...heck you'd think I haven't spent countless hours and years driving and learning it.

I'll admit it too...even though I don't know the name of any of the corners 😂 I really love the track. It's on my bucket list to drive on one day IRL. That said, I don't even think about racing competitively against other people there, it's now become my go to chill track to just take random mostly stock cars (with sport soft tires and upgraded brakes) and go drive.
Me too. It's the track I take road cars for a cruise. But I've never raced it in a competitive way.

Exactly, I can push until the Carrousel, after that my vision becomes blurrier and missed the gear I am in until the second Carrousel
Whaaat... post carousel is my favorite part of the track!
That's wild how different drivers can be. My best sections are the Carrousel onwards. The prior sections always feel like missed apexes and 'could have beens'.
Good to see I'm not the only one who prefers the final sectors.

It's hard to say how many games I've played that included the Ring and how many laps I've done. It's in the hundreds to thousands I would imagine.

Now I'm at a place where I know it very well. There aren't any surprises any more, and if I'm slow anywhere I know why. I love the place, and relish races held there. This weeks classic race at the Ring was a treat to get back in to with the 930 Porsche Turbo.

The fairly recent TT there with the X2019 really helped hone some skills, and I did probably 50 laps in the hunt for my top 500 time. I also at the stage in my "sim-racing" journey where learning the optimal ways around any track drives a lot of concentration and work.

To ‘learn’ it, as the OP described, is not particularly difficult and can be done in hours. To truly master it, forever!! 😂
I swear, I could drive through the Wipperman S a thousand times, and no 2 attempts would be the same. I doubt I’ll ever ‘master’ it. 😭

Well to learn it can be done, GT4 was my true introduction to the course and that 24hr event sheesh, I loved it since then.

I still have yet to complete the CE of this track in game I may tackle it later, but the M6 is kinda a boat and it takes time that I dont have spare right now in GT7. But i do like racing it sometimes minus the daily Race C we got this week.

To truly MASTAAArrr this course, it will take me years and years and I really need to go see in person to actually feel the track and see it for myself firsthand to understand it better in GT7!

I find getting gold on a circuit experience is much easier after a week of daily races where said track is featured, when it was GT3 at the ring, i did the circuit experience for the ring on the Sunday afternoon, nailed it on the second attempt.

Do it when its fresh in your mind and your muscle memory is fine tuned after a week of racing on the track you want to gold.

Good luck :)

You mean nailed it like you did CE all gold in the second attempt? If you said bronze, I could believe it.

I'm on the CE for Fuji Speedway right now and after three days still lacking 0.343 to all gold. But on controller, that is.

At 6 years of playing i started to feel comfortable with it, but still far from being fast (now at 7 years)

Btw I will always remember the A+ guy that said to me "well done" when I was B and finished the 10 laps training in a lobby for GTWS, I was last, minutes behind him. Only 4 finished.

Also recommend watching Misha Charoudin channel.
And then watch his codriver @F4H Super GT recent video where he makes mistakes during the group 1 race on the nordschleife :D

Edit:I'm still learning the nordschleife after racing it since gt3. 99% of the track works but then I mixup one sequence of turns with another and have to break pretty hard to not crash into other cars or barriers

Mischa C's channel clisp are great for learnign the track always!

Are you referring to Gran Turismo 3 or GT3 Racecars??
Because the track wasn't introduced until Gran Turismo 4???

That was the first time PD delved into making the longest racetrack in a racing game at the the time, which was quite cool for ps2 hardware days.
