Is it like forever?

Does it depend on how cooperative the person is?

What factors decide weather or not the banishment is permanent, or temporary?

And after a couple of months of banishment, if I decided to recreate an account, would I still receive a banishment, what I have learned my lesson?

Let me know.

It's completely a case by case basis but the vast majority of bannings are permanent.

Question: If a user is banned permanently on one account and were to create a new one some time later (not immediately), would they be allowed back on the site? What if they learned their lesson by being banned and will now behave?

Oddly enough, this answer still applies.

There are a small number that have been allowed to return and stay but if you've been banned it's usually for a reason we don't want you back for and as such it's shoot at will.

Hmmmm. I thought how you reacted to a banishment would decide if you could eventually come back.

If you have to react to a ban, the damage has already been done. ;)

Everyone starts off with zero points.

If someone has 20 points, if their next 10 point infraction is deemed as non-serious, or not so serious... if they're swearing because they're truly upset or in a tiff with someone else and have been provoked into committing a 10 point offense, we sometimes give 9 points instead, in consideration. Other times, the 10 points will be temporary, leading to a temporary ban.

Those who go from 20 straight to 30 permanent points get there for a reason. Just don't be that guy.

Doing some digging, why are we having this conversation when you already asked daan the same things in January?.

I don't like daan. And he only responds once, still leaving me with questions. I don't like his way of handling things. When he closes threads he seems to antagonize people, and seems really impatient. I could be wrong, but that's the vibe I get from him.

Your personal preference for staff aside, he responded to your questions with the same answers as I have. In asking again, were you hoping otherwise?

He already answered that as well.

My turn for a question.

Why the fascination with being banned? If it's fear, as you alluded to, just don't do anything stupid that violates the AUP and you're fine. I'm not seeing the issue here.
Do you have any infractions Samus? Or is that none of my beeswax.
I suppose he can answer that if he wants to but there's a reason warnings and infractions are handed out through PMs.

Curiosity, perhaps. I don't blame him.

Fear and curiosity. And mainly I have 10 points and really don't want to get banned because I love this site. And it really grinds my gears that infractions don't go away, they are there for eternity.

Then follow AUP and you'll avoid chewing into your remaining points allowance. We don't go and hunt people down to ban, they pop up on our radar because they are breaking house rules.

Harbouring a grudge against staff because a decision went against you is probably not the best way to view the situation.

Ok.

I don't have a grudge against daan, even if I did not get any infractions from him, I still would not like him. Like I said I don't like the way he deals with things. Especially the sometimes ignorant comments before he closes a thread. Thats all I'm saying about him, if I say too much things will be taken in the wrong way.

There's really no other way to take comments like these

but at face value.

If this is what your real reason for starting this thread was, we're done here.

Is there a way of checking how many points have been acquired?
I do not recall ever receiving a warning or infraction, I was just wondering if I received any and missed a PM or something.
You know how the Drag racing forum is:sly:

Click on your name to view your profile. If there is a tab labeled Infractions, you'll see a list of the offenses. If the tab isn't there, you don't have any warnings or infractions.

If you have a problem with any of the staff, PM Jordan and he'll decide whetehr or not action needs to be taken.

29 points here. (Yes, I was stupid...)
I have to live with sword of Damocles above my head.

Not nice but possible. I deal with it.
