How long do banishments last?

Same, 29. Most of it is for going on rants or accidentally forgetting to censor out words on funny pictures.
 
For fun, do infraction points expire after a certain amount of time? (Like, a year or so) No, I don't have any, but just wondering. :D
 
Warnings given out for grammar or similar never expire, these carry no infraction points.
Infractions are given out for AUP violations, by passing the swear filter, insulting others, spamming, repeated warnings for bad grammar also in the list.

Each has its own value in points

Think of it as a demerit system that you have on a drivers license.
Exceed your demerit limit you get banned, but the infractions expire(depends on why you got them)

You can also be banned on the spot for violations too like posting piracy, porno, starting a fight with mods/admins.
Bans can be for a few days, few weeks, or life.

At least when you`re not collecting more points older ones should expire after one or two years?

Just because you were in jail 2 years ago doesn't mean it's off your record.

Same here, but you're free to go where you'd like and less shanking. You have to provide your own meals, though.

Well, I see a little difference between something you did you have to go to jail for and posting something against AUP. :indiff:

If I did something wrong on German roads (like passing red lights and other heavy stuff) I get points. From 1 to 7 (I guess) for one delict. Passing 17 in total I have to lay down my licence.
Points on the "account" expire after 2 years when I get no more points in addition.

Not that I`m asking for amnesty - you may have seen the question mark?

Just saying and eating my meal. :guilty:
 
GTP is tougher than leather on the AUP! It's tricky to always follow within it's guidelines.

Not really.

I remain on 0 warnings (not even a pm warning has come my way) and 0 infractions after 3 years so it can't be that hard.

Yes, it's not hard if you follow the rules and don't insult others. Keeping out of certain areas always helps too. :lol:

Same here although I've been here only 2 years. Not that difficult to follow set rules. :)
 
I've had an infraction expire after a set amount of time before. It depends if the mod wants to have it expire or not. Had that not expired I'd be banned right now. In fact TB saved me from this last time for me being an idiot and forgetting to word censor an image I posted.
 
Is there a place you can see number of infractions and warnings? I don't think I have had any and been here coming up to 10 years.

Click on your name to view your profile. If there is a tab labeled Infractions, you'll see a list of the offenses. If the tab isn't there, you don't have any warnings or infractions.

I would love to see a pinned thread here, where people could go to appeal their permanent infractions.

I recently bought a lifetime membership and now, after getting mad at some hacker, 33 1/3% of that is gone forever.
 
Why make a private issue a public one? There is no community vote on the validity of infractions - if you take issue with one, the best approach would be to discuss it with the moderator who issued it. If you're not satisfied with that, take it upstairs to Famine, or even Jordan.

Premium members are expected to follow the same AUP that every other member does 👍
