I just curious to how long does it take on average to finish a game. For me it usually takes 2-3 weeks to finish game. I usually take my time and go slow as I figure things out. Usually on my second playthrough I go a little faster.

Most games take more then 3 weeks since i dont normally play games to the dead end. With some exceptions, Uncharted2, Killzone2, GT5 Prologue and Assassins creed 2, which were all within 3 weeks, GT5 Prologue even in 3-4 days.

But i like to take it easy when gaming, makes me enjoy it most, which is the goal! ;)

I finished call of duty in 4 days but I haven't even finished GTA IV yet and I have had it for over a year. I Enjoy playing the game and driving the city, I dont really want to finish it. Really it depends on the game, I cannot vote because I do not know to be honest.

I guess the obviously answer is how longs the game! Most take me a matter of days if that, I've done some in less then a day. I mean AC2 platinum took me the less then 3 days and I started on the 1st day at around 10PM. I'm not usually that rapid though as I break up my gaming.

Depends on the game and how good it is. The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion took me over 200hours to complete, Dragon Age took me some 60 hours, Mass Effect was the same way. However games like Uncharted took me about 10 hours (maybe less), Call of Duty's are pretty short too.

Typically a game that takes 10-15 hours to complete takes me about a week. Games that take 50-60 hours take me about a month or so and games like require more time than that can take several months. I think Oblivion took me almost two months to complete of pretty solid playing.

It really depends on the game. Some games I can only handle one quick playthrough which might only be a couple hours. Other games I can put 300-400 hours into. Multiplayer or co-op add a LOT of replay value. Its rare a single player game will keep my attention very long at all unless its very good. Like Fallout 3. Thats the only single player game that I have over 200 hours into and thats with only 2 characters. I started my 3rd last and last character last night. So who knows how many more hours the 3rd character will consume.

Co-op campaign and multiplayer games last me the longest amount of time. Halo 2 multiplayer lasted me 3 straight years playing almost every single day. If Halo 3 wasnt out I would still be playing Halo 2 every day. Luckily Halo 3 is MUCH better than Halo 2. I have already put 2 years into Halo 3 and will keep playing it until something else tops this multiplayer. Which so far, has not been accomplished by any developer.

3 weeks or more. Mostly because I don't get to play my PS3 too often during the week, and usually only after my girlfriend goes to bed at night on the weekends.

Even though she has her own TV in the bedroom, she refuses to let me play anything while she's awake. :grumpy:

I don't think I've ever finished a game. In FPS games like COD and Battlefield I go strait for multiplayer and games like Gran Turismo I only play to get the cars I want then just drive them in arcade/time trial etc.

Well, it really depends on what game it is. Some games can be completed within days and some can take months to finish. I have GTA IV, completed 100% story mode in 80-ish hours, but can never achieve 100% of the trophy list, and I've bought the game for 2 years already.

For recent games like Uncharted 2, as I started the game in Normal difficulty, it takes me like 60-ish hours to complete the game, with all trophies and getting all available stuff (e.g single player skins, tweaks, etc.) from offline (story) mode. However, I still haven't played much of the multiplayer mode yet, as I can't meet my friends at the right time.

For driving games like GRAN TURISMO, it usually takes me years to complete, as the game always consists of plenty of content to put time on. And I love driving around with my beloved vehicles, so it's gonna take me a decent amount of time (years) to complete it. :)

If its a hobby you love and she wont let you do it....Its time for a new girlfriends. Or you need to put your foot down and be a man. Just that simple.

Well its not the fact that she won't let me play, its the fact that she won't let me play on the 50" LCD in the living room. She's said I can go play all I want on the 21" LCD in the other room, but down sizing like that is just torture.

i have completed all 26 of my ps3 games but havent achieved 100% on the trophies and 15 xbox 360 but not all achivements its annooying but i cant complain i dont try to get the trophies

How long did it take you to finish those games?

For most games, if everything is going well I should finish the offline part in about 2 weeks (give or take a few days depending on work, school, etc). The online part however, may take anywhere from a month to three months (because of uncooperative players, time zone differences, etc). Some games take me very long to finish though, because they're either very hard (like FC and SCC) or there are just so much things to do (like FUEL and Burnout). I also have some games which I know I'll never complete 100% (Sega Rally & SSV8).

For GT games though, the gameplay will last me a lifetime. You can never truly say, "I'm done!" with GT. :sly:

Depends on the game and how good it is.

That is definately an important point for me, I run through games much faster when I enjoy them, like Fallout 3, Assassins 2 and others. I also go faster if I have another goal, like with MW2 I wanted to do the story to prepare for multiplayer, so I stuck it on Veteran after running the pit in under 30 seconds, and away I went and I didn't stop until the game was over, took about 6-8 hours for that one sitting to result in a completion of the main story.

That's interesting with me the more I enjoy the game the longer I will take to finish it.

May I ask why? If a games good I may play it longer, I may elongate it as much as I can, but if I'm immersed the amount I play will mean I finish fast anyway.

Depends on the game... and nowadays, depends on how much free time I have.

Nowadays, I only have a limited number of playing hours a week. Some weeks, I hardly play at all.

Back when I did play... we'd go through games like pizzas. The first Resident Evil? A day or two. Most FPSs? The single-player part will either take one night or two days, depending on what time I start playing. After a while, I had to resort to setting everything to hard to extend my playing time.

Flight Combat sims take longer because part of your mission is flying to and from your target. One or two days, only though... then another few weeks of doing all the different permutations and missions.

The first Metal Gear Solid? Finished in 7 hours, played straight. Then played another five or six hours to get the second ending.

That's why I love Gran Turismo. It actually takes time to finish, and some skill. Most games are built so that 99% of the players out there can finish it on "Normal", while 75% can finish it on hard. (They had to invent "Very Hard" for the truly hardcore, to limit it to 50%)

Gran Turismo? They make it so that you actually have to know how to drive to play. In other words, you need to develop a very specific skill set to get through it. It takes me days to get through the license tests. Days that stretch out to weeks to do all races in one tier (or at least enough to advance)... then months as I do the license tests for higher levels... and other races... and some of the other factory races, as I try to make more money to feed my growing car collection... and before I know it... a year has passed... as I do certain races over and over... get bogged down tuning and testing and tuning and...

Other games may give you the long term hit, like Fallout3 (just don't follow the extremely short main storyline until you've done all the side missions) or various GTA games... but again... racing actually takes some skill... which I appreciate.

Fastest I've ever finished a game? Me and a mate used to play Streets of Fury on his old Genesis between classes in College. We played it so much that we could blitz through it in just 20 minutes, unlock the secret "Hard" mode, then finish that in another 20 minutes, eat lunch and be back in class on time.

I voted 5-10 days but on second thought I wouldn't vote.

Some games I go through quite fast (I did Uncharted 2 in less than a week If i recall properly)

However I still haven't finished GT4 and got it near launch (I still play it now)

I try to complete games to the best of my ability (ie finiding treasures in Uncharted 2) so it will defintly take me more than 3 weeks. There's always online multiplayer which I find very entertaining.

it takes only a few seconds...

take the disc out of the cover and slam it hard on the floor sothat it bursts...LOL

I play a new game at a time, and if I buy a game, it's because I like it. So generally 11-14 days considering I play a lot of GT4. However, if I didn't have GT4, around 3-4 days.

Well, I got Modern Warfare 2 on Christmas and just now passed the "Burger Town" mission, you tell me how long it takes me to beat a game.

I guess the real question with MW2 is what difficulty you're on, Veteran is by no means a doddle for most so it does take time.

I can't vote at all. I still play GT4 to this day and after 3 unexplained data corruptions (not caused by quitting whilst saving etc.) I still haven't finished it. I also still play Battlefield 2 online most days and after over 1300 hours BC2 is looking brighter by the day. For a normal PS3 game such as resistance maybe 3-5 days. But I can't be sure.

I play on regular because I suck at shooting games. Hence why I have yet to go online with it yet.
