How many cars have you owned in you life? I'm only 14 but I can say what my dad's owned. Here I go, this is in time order:
Mitsubishi Sigma (my Dad's says it was a prototype. A tuned one. It went like a bullet)
Fait Uno
Mk 2 Astra (one with the digital display)
Rover Sterling
Ford Mondeo 2.5 V6
Vauxhall Cavillier 2.0
Celica mk2 in black
Renault Scienic mk1 1.6 Auto
Fiat Multipla 1.9 JTD ELX
Chrysler Voyager 2.4 LX
Mazda 6 2.0 TS
He also would have owned other cars while he lived in Australia, maybe Holdens.
Did you like the cars you owned?
From the back of my head my Dad liked the Scenic. It wasn't that nippy because it was an auto but it was a good car. The car had only one problem with one of the engines electronic systems.
The Fiat Multipla was a good car as well. Very roomy car even though it has 6 seats. The diesel version was actually quiter than the petrol on the motorway.
My Dad had one problem and that was an electric mirror not working properly and more electronics in the engine.
The Chrysler Voyager wasn't so good. The 2.4 engine is seems quite big but the size of the car was huge so it struggled up hills and upward slopes on the motorway. It was quite quiet was well. He also had some problems; the gearbox was very problematic. It wouldn't go into some gears sometimes and stressed him out. Chrysler replaced the gear box, it was a little better but it was still there. He had quite a squeeky rear axle for a while that was annoying. The funniest thing that happened to him was just when he was about to exchange his car for the Mazda 6 the air conditioning made a horrible noise. We've never said anything since.
Last thing about this car, if you buy it new you wont get much money back when you part exchange it. The car was worth £21,000 new and after 9 months he got £12,000 back. Horrible.
My Dad says the Mazda 6 is his best car ever. It's very roomy and it handles well. Engine noise is noticeable on the motorway. I've noticed my Dad wanting to change up a gear but he's already in 5th, the top gear. For the 9 months he's had the car he's had no problems. That's Japanese reliability for you.
The other cars I cant remember what were like (because I wasn't born and my Dad can't remember) but I do remember the Rover Sterlings engine needed good looking after.
Please reply as I and other viewers would like to know how many and what cars you have owned and the experience you have had. Please reply!
