The point is not to drive all cars. The point is to find some cars that you like and drive those.
(And I've tried a lot more than 25% of the cars. The premiums alone are 20% of the cars and I've definitely driven all of those. Add to that a few hundred standards and I've probably tried 40-50% of all cars)
I've probably driven 80% or more of the cars in GT5 at least once for a full lap around a track. Most of the cars I haven't driven are the plethora of alternate model flavours for S2000s, Miatas, RX7s, Skylines and the like though I have driven one of each distinct generation.
I even did a full lap around the Nordschleife course in a Mitusbishi i-Miev, not the fastest lap in the world but it was a nice pleasant drive in the country .
