So, N.I.D.'S of GTP, Unite.

N.I.D. stands, of course, for Nerd In Disguise.

Simple rules.

You don't look like this :

But secretly you share some what of the same passions and ideas.

If this is you show it with a N.I.D. logo in your signature. (Quote me for the Logo)

Add in definition.

nerd:
1. a stupid, irritating, ineffectual, or unattractive person.
2. an intelligent but single-minded person obsessed with a nonsocial hobby or pursuit: a computer nerd.

... Now to think about that...

I think my OP was clear enough.

Oh ok. :P

I'd like to see responses to this thread, this may be a little funny. :P

I know they are around here. But I think they are to shy to show themself.

Listen to me Brothers and Sisters!

Throw away that burden! Be free with me!

Add me in, I read encyclopedias, know too much about everything, analyze Star Wars, and often get called a dictionary. :indiff:

Being on a board that obsessively compulsively discusses the difference between virtual tire physics and the real thing isn't enough of a clue?

Show it with the Logo!

No, no, because there could be real nerds out here.

Sometimes nerds have no common sense. Not that I would know of that of course. :scared:

I would be a nerd, my beard just hides it when you see me. Once you start talking to me you would realize quite quickly that I'm a computer nerd. So yes I am N.I.D.

So if I had a ZZ Top beard......

I was full nerd before I grew my beard. Good thing I never wore rainbow suspenders or else I would not have the friends I have today!

Now that I'm 6'2" and with a full beard I am N.I.D.

Did I miss something?

Whoa! I've got about three or four non-social hobbies, that doesn't mean I'm not a nerd.

And for the sake of all that is good and nerdy, we are portrayed so negatively on TV and in movies; just because we wear glasses doesn't automatically mean that we're smart. We might actually be dumb or just average.

I'm not a NID. I'm an LIU (Low Intelligence Unit). :P Though I'm smarter than my appearance suggests. :P

Lets see, how many members do we have...?

You've joined up to a computer forum to chat and argue about a computer game, or to chat and argue about what car is better, or worse, than other cars. You sir, yes, you, are a nerd. As are we all.

I don't know about the disguise bit.

^ I think this about sums it up ;)

I'm a N.I.D. or whatever, and I'll admit it to anyone, I never really cared.

Helped keep me busy in highschool and college since it always gave me something to do on the weekend. I'd go to a bush party friday night, and then head to another guys house saturday night to play D&D.

Hell yeah and proud of it 👍

Actually I wasn't a nerd when most people are (highschool,...) but after completing school I started going out partying less and less and getting geeky hobbies instead (and working, naturally).

Now 4 years after college, I barely go in clubs anymore where I have the strong feelling everyone became Jersey Shore, even though it isn't broadcasted here, which makes me want to take a bullet.
Plus side, no more 100€+ nights in alcohol, no more barfights, no more stress with cheated woman (well less).

Other might just call it grow up.

I'm one!

Either it's cars, video games systems, computers, collecting cars and figures, Transformers, Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Metal Gear, Syphon Filter, NFS, Test Drive, GT, Resident Evil, Dino Crisis, X-Men etc.. You're talking about it, I'm in.

Let's not forget school subjects, espically science subjects like Physics, Biology etc. And I'm pretty good at writing stories/essays and I love to draw/sketch cool car vinyls and other types of artwork. :D
