So how many of the same type of vehicles have you owned?

Currently have two Corollas. Had two Supras at different times in the past. Actually quite interested in getting another of both, but the Corolla is much more likely.
 
I have personally changed cars Opel Corsa, Opel Kadett, Pontiac Fiero.
Company Cars VW Golf, Alfa Romeo 156, Audi A4, Audi A3 and Mercedes Benz C. Actually would probably have taken an Audi A3 again if that was possible.

VW Golf and Audi A3 could count as 1,5 since they are the same basis.

My partner, in the past had 3 Renault Clio's in a row and the parents in law are even higher on that number I believe.
 
I currently own two BMW 7 Series of the same generation, but they are the bookends of the generation. One is a 2001 740i MSport and the other is a 1995 740i.

I also own three MK1 Fiat Unos. A 1987 MK1 Uno 70SL, A 1988 MK1 Uno Turbo and a 1985 MK1 Uno Turbo. And just to round out my Uno addiction I also own a 1992 MK2 Uno Turbo.

Previously I had two e46 330ds at the same time. One was an estate the other a sedan.

I like to buy my cars in pairs :D
 
I've owned 3 cars, all of which have been different. (Saxo, 323F, 406 Coupe)

My dad, however, went through 2 different Hillman Minx, then 2 different Hillman Hunters. He then got a Talbot Alpine which he changed for the Saloon version (Solara). After those, he went through 3 different generations of Mazda 626 (A saloon then 2 hatchbacks.) He liked to be consistent, even though he made boring sensible choices.
 
I've owned three Mk3 Fiestas, two MX-5s (Mk1 and Mk2) and two MX-3s (both of which I still own).

We've had three largish saloons (Xedos 9, 6th gen Accord, Mk3 Mondeo) and have just added an E39 Estate. So four (family cars), five (Mazdas), three (Mk3 Fiestas), two (MX-5) and two (MX-3).
 
I didn't vote on the poll I have an 04 Clio and I'm looking to buy either a Clio Williams or 182 Cup in the next couple of years. Work my way up to a Clio V6 at the end.
 
Just the one. Though I like to think I'd replace this with another Ford with the same bits. Provided they haven't all rusted away.

3 1986 Mercury cougars and 1 1969 Nova and a 1970 Nova, different year, same generation. 68-72 was the span on the Nova until 73 kicked off the next gen body, which were horrible from then on out.....

I was right in the middle of both options. I've had:

Four Holden Gemini's (a TX, a TC and two TE models, both the TE's were done up for drag use, the TX & TC were just buy, bodge and sell jobs with a crapload of thrashing inbetween), two Mitsubishi Sigma's (a 2.0L auto & 2.6L manual), two Toyota Cressidas (both MX83's, the 2nd became a JZX83), plus heaps of one off's such as a Mazda RX4, a Mazda 808 w/13B Peripheral Port, a Datsun 1200 with a 120thou overbored A12 motor, and my mother had three Holden Barina's (one 1991 Suzuki Swift/Cino based, the other two ['94 & '98] were Opel Corsa based).

So I put down 4-6 since the Gemini's were my babies when I was growing up as a teenager.
 
For about 5 years I had a pair of 1995 Neons at the same time - both white, both sedans. One was a Dodge Sport with an automatic, the other was a Plymouth ACR with (of course) a stick.

Thus far, no, I've yet to own the same kind of car with exception to the rather silly amount of parts shared between the Celica and the Camry. It seems that, in general for my family, we buy one specific car (new or old), and then upgrade to the next-generation model when we change up. Perhaps the only exception to that would have been my brother having two B13 Sentras (coupe and sedan), and my father's strange obsession with the Chevrolet Astro (three of them).

I've owed two Hondas and now I'm on my first Mazda. It's reasonable to think I'll own more Mazdas in time because I like quite a lot of their past and current cars.

Same type: 3 BMW 3-series (if you count the M3 as a '3-series', then 5)

Same generation: 3 BMW E36s.


Speaking of E36s... I saw a pristine all original '95 M3 Coupe in Dakar Yellow I on the way to work this morning.

Perfect car. No cf hood. No 'demon eyes'. No eyelids. No E46 front clip. No smoked corners. No blacked out tail lights. No "wide body" conversion. No '20s. No drop, no poke, no flush, no hella flush. None of that stupid ****.

I nearly turned around to ask the driver if he'd sell it to me on the spot.

Well its still a ways off. And it could be vetoed by wifey in favor of any number of other verts, since it'll be our shared 'fun' car.

Speaking of the Mrs., she's had 2 M1 Miatas. A black '93 and a "Starlight Mica Blue" '96.
