I mean this car is awsome!! But my skills havent allowed me to acheive it yet :dopey:

So what do you guys think about it before I go spending hours in driving missions to get it??

BTW The turbos hanging out the back make me  everytime I look at it!! 👍

I have it and it IS awesome
It is really fast with turbos and aquires 1000(+) hp
Its real light and has a cool look
good luck on getting it!!

This car sucks. I mean, it couldn't hang up with Lemas cars.

Better power to weight ratio than the Formula 1 car when you mod it (but way worse in the downforce department). Make the suspension work and you've got a fun car.

There are many faster cars in GT4, but the Toyota 7 is still cool by me...

Well let's see,, why would a car that was built to compete over 20yrs ago not be able to keep up modern day Le Mans cars.
Try racing against something in it's time period.

Don't you hate seeing really fat people cry?.

Please, try 150miles speedway enduro and you'll know what I'm talking about (no upgrades).

First time I won that car I was impressed at how it performed. The only track I don't like with this car is Nurburgring because the car is SO light it flys off all the bumps and hills. Probably I just don't have it set up very well, though.

I won this car and it's definetely unique. I kinda wish there were more Can-Am cars like this in the game. My favorite part is putting it on Chase View and watching the flames come out of the turbochargers.

It's fast, but there is next to ZERO downforce, so it can't turn very well. Kinda like the Chaparral 2J in a way - lightweight and fast in a straight line, but if you upset it's balance, off the track you go!

I haven't driven it that much (too many cars in my garage) but enjoyed it. Of course, it's not as fast as an LMP car (and is not supposed to ), but it's a missile in the straights !
Ans it's still good to drive original cars like this one.

After a lot of adjustments and some good driving (if I may say so) I came close to winning the first race in the championship series at the end of the Professional events. I'm not sure if I'm using all the right names there. It was on the Tokyo 246. My tires melted on the last lap and I lost the lead after the last turn. Very frustrating as I really thought I could win with that car. That was the best I did after many attempts. After that I decided this car can't win this series and I went and got the R89C by winning Mission 34 to finish off the Professional events.

Anyway, to answer the question, I like the car.

I liked the Toyota 7 race car. But i can only race it against JGTC cars or German Touring cars. I dont think i can win races if i am competing against those LMP cars like Mer Sauber9, Toyota 89C and those Nissan 89 and 92....

I think this can be a good/great car if you can tune it right.... :grumpy: unfortunatelly i have not found the right set up... anyone willing to share theirs? 👍 thanks

I do, especially when their tears are made of mostly french fry grease and liquid butter. Don't you wish you could just tell some people to PUT DOWN THE FORK! lol

Back onto the topic though. Back in the day it was created, it was prolly an engineering masterpiece, today, its merely part of racing history. Fun to drive in the game, but really, its not as competitive as modern day cars. 👍

I have it, drove it 2 laps and thought it sucked. It sucks compared to the other cars in its class. The power/weight ratio doesn't say everything.

That car has possibly the shortest exhausts ive ever seen... either that or they mounted the turbos right at the end for another reason (cooling??). Would quite like to give it a go, but my skills wont be ready for a long time

No exhaust at all, you mean! Just the turbo manifold (the darker tubing) feeding into the turbine, with nothing connected to the turbine outlet. And Corky Bell taught me that the best exhaust for a big turbo is none at all - awesome. 👍

I have, it's an amazing car for 1970. If anyone really needs an out for 1000miles, it will win without any effort.

I haven't driven it too extensively, but from what I driven it seems like the AI drives it alot faster than I do. I'm much faster in LMP cars, just like I should be, the AI isn't.

i got it yesterday... and i am dissapointed, i dont like it at all... it handles crap and its top speed and acceleration is also crap...

When i first got this car i thought it was really good but then i got further into the game and got some more cars and realised that this car is pretty much a peice of crap.......but im still proud of it as it was my first 1000hp+ car

It's wicked fast in a straight line, but it can't turn with the other race cars. It's very difficult to drive well. It has trouble planting its power. In spite of its amazing power to weight ratio, it's relatively slow around most tracks.

I think it's an excellent car for it's age.

Bonus points:-

It's under 4000mm, so can be raced in the compact cups.
It's made in 1970, so can be raced in the classic car races.
It has the best power to weight ratio of all cars in the game.

Minus points:-

It doesn't have the ability to give the modern day LMPs a run for their money.

I haven't driven it, but looks really nice.

I love your pic here. Did you put the Toyota ads in the background on purpose? Awesome photo. 👍

this car kicked my arse when i competed against it in the F1 at la sarthe II. its my nemesis i tell u! i went back to try and rerace against it and it was gone!

I've got the car and I think it looks fantastic. I'll have to try it out!

I love this car. I'm not fond of the Le Mans cars, since those are often overkill when you use a Le Mans car and you race against the other Le Mans cars. This car is slower, but still able to win the GTWC. I haven't tried it yet, but the CLK-GTR is slower and I did use that car for GTWC and won 9 out of 10 races.
Note: Bot cars aren't tuned. They are completely stock except for tires and Oil change. No upgrades, no suspension change, nothing.

The major advantage of this car compared to the CLK-GTR is that the tires wear off much slower and therefore you can use softer tires and use the CLK-GTR pit stop strategy. In a practice race against a Sauber, R92CP and some other LM cars on Super Speedway, I was able to win that race with a gap of 5 seconds, because I used hard/superhard and did not make a pit stop. I wasn't able to win this race with the CLK-GTR.

I can't complain about this car. If you wan't something between a Le Mans race car and a normal race car, this is the car for you.

I like it.... it's very fast but it handles really well too... it's difficult to keep up with it around the Nurb especially...

I don't know if some of you guys are driving the same car that I am, but the Toyota 7 is a seriously fast car. The only car that gives me fits in All Stars (thus far) is the Nissan 92. I must admit that it seems to make a difference whether or not you pass your opponents on the first lap, but if you do, it's just a matter of chasing down the freakin' Nissan. There may be a difference in this car in the North American release of the game? My car doesn't have 1000hp, but 800hp.

I believe it to have pretty good handling, but tends to understeer a bit too much at the limit. Some of you have attributed this to lack of downforce. If this is the case then shame on the designers, because it has a wing as big as a park bench.

I love the fact that this car is in the game. I am a fan of the old Can-Am racing series, but the 7 and the Chaparral 2J are the only cars in the game that fit that regulation. Did you know that when Porsche was working out the turbocharging on their all-conquering 917s, that they sought the expertise of a fellow named May, but Toyota had already conscripted him to work on this car? Too bad the turbocharged 7 never turned a wheel in anger -- all the drivers in the program had been killed in testing!
