The current question is how many rounds each driver should run, and how to integrate this with the potential for better "team" feeling to the competition.

The initial idea was for each driver to run one round only, with a few members of smaller teams doubling up only as required.

Another proposal works like this:

10 drivers per team; each run 2 rounds. With 2 alternate drivers available (running 2 rounds each), then potentially a team could have 6 drivers run 2 rounds each, 4 drivers run 1 round each, and the 2 backup drivers would make up the required additional rounds to make 2 x 10 rounds.

The potential scoring for this system could remain as the single fastest time submits for the team, OR for a team approach, each team could submit the total of their two times.

Please vote for your favorite configuration and we'll try to answer two questions with one poll here.

I really think the second option of 2 reserve drivers gives us the best of both worlds. IF you don't want to race 2 you dont have to, and if you want to, you have the opportunity. Keeping the scoring as single times is also the best route imo 👍

1 round maximum per driver, no duplication of drivers per round. 👍

Show everyone what you're made of in one race, no second chances needed if you're prepared to give 110% for your team. Let's have a BC that shows the strongest team overall instead of the best team that can get their top drivers to run twice.

I voted for "none of the above," aka what you said, except I'd go for two separate times submitted per team per round.

A "combined times" approach may "handicap" the elite drivers who want to win an individual race in addition to helping their team.

A "fastest time only" situation might make the slower drivers feel like they "drove for nothing," and it could result in the top 5 drivers from a Board each racing and submitting twice, so the other 5 (or 7) don't "officially" drive any race.

By single fastest time do you mean having 2 people run it but only the person with the fastest time submit? If so I'd like to retract my vote. I thought you meant each of the 2 drivers will submit their single time, like it has been done in the previous BC's.

OK, let me make that change. I was assuming only the fastest time for each team would get submitted. We'll need to revamp the points system because I only allowed for spots 1-10 on the assumption we'd have 10 teams and 10 times.

OK, I clarified this in the poll options. Do you want me to change the vote? I can move it from one to the other.

Yes, please. Option #2. 2 rounds per driver/alternate, with duplication, both times submitted separately.
Thank you.

Thanx Duke 👍 You're doing a top job with this, and I think I speak for everyone when I say that :D 👍

Shucks, I had fun as an alternate in BC3 even though all I did was save us from a DNF in a round or two. So I'm just trying to make sure we put on a good show for everybody, since we're the 900-pound gorilla of the Gran Turismo world.

Thanks for the kind words!

I agree with Jerry 100%. Run one race and pour all of your guts into it. I also think that this shuld be a "Board Challenge" and not just elite drivers competing against each other as many times as possible, while the rest of us just clutter up the bottom of the results page. With each elite driver only running one race they might end up bunching up on some of the same races, and maybe some of us non-robotic implant type of guys might actually have a shot at a top 3 finish in the other races. (Yeah Right!)

I agree with Jerry and Todd 👍

1 race, I know i can do 110% for 1 race, but i doubt i could do that for 2 races.

1 race to show what you got 👍 👍

I voted 1 race per driver.

Last BC i ad to race on 2 and didn't had enough time to put 110% on each.

come on Ron, at least you that happened to won both the rounds should know that it works :P
no chance I think :D

I need a rest this time around .... 1 win should be plenty :dopey:
I was just greedy in BC4 :sly:

ojk mate I'll be on course for winning the wooden spoon this time around :)

Glad to see most people want one race, one track, one driver, one time only.

Even if all you do is support the driver, more than one combo is too much.
