How many seasonal events will we have when PSN is back up?

I wonder if PD has uploaded new events weekly even throughout the PSN outage? Whether this is possible, or whether they require PSN to be online for content upload to be possible?

PSN has been down for two weeks and a new event had only been online for a few hours before PSN went down. Only a minority of people have yet seen these events as a result of the outage.

Subsequently, there could be upto 3 new sets of seasonals for us to enjoy when the network is back up (tomorrow?).

What do you guys think?
 
How would any of us know? My best guess is your best guess.
 
I agree. The one right before PSN down, the other from last week and another this week (depending on when it goes up). However I still have to fully update the game so...:(

higher payout than the seasonals before ca 180.000 cash 5 laps

I'm hoping for a big pay-out seasonal again ( I just bought the p4 Ferrari other day lol )

At this point I think there will be, including the muscle car one, 2 new events.
 
Agreed, PSN doesn't need to be up for them to continue to develop seasonals, perhaps we will get some sort of update too.

However I do find it a little mystifying how some people (mostly in the News section admittedly) think that PD should recompense us for the PSN outage with new cars, DLC etc. PD are a software developer, the outage is down (in part at least) to Sony, not PD.

Any compensation will be from Sony, perhaps a free game or choice of games but PD don't "owe" us anything for PSN being down. However I personally think it will be a kinda nice reward for our patience if we do get three seasonals (including the muscle cars) :)

Indeed, it's Sony, not PD. However, I doubt that PD has been sleeping the past few weeks. Let's hope we get something new - if not, that's ok, too.

Agreed. They aren't sleeping. They are celebrating all the money they made, and figuring out how to bring death into GT5. Yes, I'm referring to Kaz's ridiculous "mimesis" garbage.
 
Give us a GT3 or GT4 DL for our Ps3's .

I would be happy just getting the network up and running first. But it would be nice to get a few new ones as well.
 
At the rate of the Network coming back up, I would say all of them.
 
I think if they're smart they'll have something to attract people back online. I know the daily GT5 habit has been forgotten on my part.

I think it's about time PD gave the GT franchise to somebody else. Kaz has clearly jumped the shark.

What track were those 5 laps on? And how long did it take if you recall. I'd actually just like to know if it was a better grind race than the K-car seasonal.
 
I was thinking about this very question not too long ago, atleast a few more.
 
Idk but the PSN is STILL DOWN!!! Can't believe SONY set a restoration time in the 1st place.
 
In point of fact, GT4 was a much more interesting game that GT5 or GT5P.
I'm not saying that '5 is not a good game, BTW cause it is.
However If they'd kept 4's tracks, events, etc. and figured out the internet portion....
THAT would be even more awesome than GT5.
 
GT 6 will be out!!J/K I am sure PD is aware of the outage, hopefully they have something big planned but we will just have to wait and see.
 
I am kind of surprised we need the PSN to play the seasonals at all. I recently purchased two single player games and found that they were able to update to the latest updates/patches without the PSN being active. Now with GT5 I wonder if someone buying the game now could update it the same way. If PD were to have its own server/system for updates, then theoretically it should also be able to tell our games what the seasonal configurations are without having the PSN. It's only a minor and single player component after all. Unfortunately everything seems to be tied to the PSN, even when there is no need: e.g. Konami runs its multiplayer games on its own servers without any need for PSN functions and yet you still need the PSN to get permission from Sony to get into the Konami servers. Anyways: my point is that it probably wouldn't have been very hard for PD to send us an update to allow us access to seasonals without the PSN, but they probably just never thought of it. Heck they could have sent us extra seasonals during the PSN downtime as a little bonus of sorts. I'm sure many people would have appreciated it.
 
I would imagine it would be easier to work on the servers and the new network without having to sift through new user data.

That said, if this thing is down until the 31st, is it possible that PD will have 5 new seasonal events, plus the muscle car event few people played, plus the timing of another seasonal event the following day? That would be 7 total updates.

One problem I see is that the online car dealership will certainly be an issue. The PSN has been down so long that the OCD isn't going to be able to have entirely new cars for all of the new events, plus keep the muscle cars in there for that event. Then if there would be a new event the next day, it would only give us a single day to buy the appropriate cars for these events because the 1st of June is a new update (and subsequent refresh of the OCD).

The more logical approach would be that PD is making seasonal events with cars most people have (aka prize cars) and dealership cars. I highly doubt that PD is going to release 5 new seasonal events. If anything, the downtime should enable them to get the in-race saves going on (my guess would be that it would be an option when pitting). I can see a few seasonal events being made, but not more than 3 (in addition to the current muscle car seasonal).

No new seasonal events (as of May 15th 14:14 EST)
 
I can understand there being no seasonal events posted until Monday. That would at least allow PD to have their weekend. That said, it will be interesting to see what is offered, if anything, on Monday. If nothing, maybe they are waiting until Wednesday to do so. If there is no update on Wednesday, I think everybody has a right to be pissed off at Polyphony. They would have had a full month to get new events up and it would be just another failure. I think I would stop playing GT5 at that point. Even if there is only one new event (French event), I would still be severely disappointed and may just stop playing. It is worth giving them a chance to prove they didn't sit around, though.

What a complete joke. I'll not be buying any more Gran Turismo games and will definitely advise friends to avoid this game.
