You just corrected yourself.

The title "Admin" defines you as.. Well.. The Administrator. It does not mean you own them, and I clearly said that. I can, however, claim administration.

Theres usually between 10-15 hanging around here on any given day, there "ours" but their usually get sold. We only use about 7. My dad is a computer tech and goes around to several diffrent buildings to fix computers all day, any time they upgrade their stuff we always get a ton of computers. Just the other day we got 4 flat screens (3-15", 1-17" I took one, and am using dual screens 👍 ) 2 17" crt's, 3 p3's, 2 p4's, 2 deskjet 950 C printers, 2 nice scanners, and 2 all in one printer scanner copier things.

2. :D

– 20" iMac (just got it last week)
– 12" iBook

Our PowerMac G3 finally died a few weeks ago.

An HP Evo N610c Laptop

Unless I'm stupid the only EVO series I remember was made by Compaq(nonetheless partners).

Anways I own one computer out of 3 computers in our house.

2.6 GHz P4 HP a610y

Others are the same exact computers except parent's monitor is a 17" instead of a 15". Nothing exciting.

Oh and I own an HP iPAQ. About a year earlier I got rid of my 10 year old Micron.

Personally:

Athlon XP 2100+ System

Household:

Dell 3.6 Ghz Pentium 4 HT with Geforce 6800 PCI-Express
Beige G3 233Mhz (that drove me to buy my Athlon XP 2100+ System because of the horrid OS 9)
Mac IIsi 22-25mhz (oldest computer in the house)

On the way (just ordered tonight):

Dell 1.6 Ghz Pentium M 730 Inspiron 9300 w/ 1 GB Ram, 256 Nvidia GeForce 6800 Go, XP Pro for College

Define "working". Are we talking about computers that POST and boot into an OS, or just ones that POST? Or are we talking about the number of computers we COULD have working if we felt like putting them all back together?

you guys have alot of specifications, what do you actually do with them all?

i have one main machine that i use for everything. these days that's mainly internet and photos. and porn :sly:

i also have a tv computer (just a pc with a big hdd and tvout videocard and wireless kb+mouse) which is used for watching divx movies and playing snes/nes/genesis/gameboy roms :D

i have another pc in the cupboard, which i just use for playing around with different operating systems and hardware and stuff when i'm bored or want to test something i think might be faulty. it mainly lives in the cupboard :P

Hey Sage, wouldn't you like to get your hands on one of these? Here's some more info. That sucker is downright sick.

I myself have one and a half computers. The one is my laptop (P4 2.66GHz) and the half is the system that I'm building at the moment (P4 3.2GHz w/ HT).

POST and boot into an OS.

Ok... I've got 6 working computers atm. 5 desktops and the Dell laptop. I could have a couple more without much effort... my other laptop just needs to have an os installed and i have all the stuff to hook up my P4, but neither of those are working now.

Yes, but HP own Compaq, therefore it's an HP laptop. It's covered in little HP markings, even though the badge on the case says Compaq.

This topic is called "How many working computers do you own?". That was why I called you on it... :)

Desktops-

AMD Athlon64 3200+
P3 500
P1 166
486 DX 66
and a few 286's in the loft (all working)

Laptops-
P3 650
P1 75

Misc-
Amiga 600

And a typewriter!

You don't own your computers.
Your computers own you.
SLAVE!

Athlon 1800 - current workstation
Pentium 3 600 - 'spare' workstation
Pentium 2 350 - server
Pentium 3 700 x 3 - loaners (:
iBook G3 600 - living room computer
iMac G3 400 x 2 - StarCrafting boxen
Quad Pentium Pro 166 - big ass file server
XBox
PS2

Looks like 12. Mostly useless old hardware.

If I had my way I would have a dual 1Ghz+ with about 1TB of storage as my server and a pair of really nice laptops - everything else would go away.

Only two in our house, i'm an only child, my dad wouldn't know how to turn a computer on, and my mum doesn't use them much. So, i have a p4 2.8ghz desktop, in my room, and a toshiba laptop, in my room.
The reason the desktop is in my room is because the laptop has been playing up, and i need something to access the web with. But, we are hopefully taking it in to pcworld tomorrow - who says taking out insurance was a bad idea?

And the mains adapter should say hp too

I don't have a compaq, i know someone who has one. Just letting you know i don't go around looking at power adapters on laptops! Btw, my toshiba laptop has a liteon one.

... i'm an only child ...

That explains a lot.

So if your parents rarely ever use the computer - so much so that you moved it to your room - why is it that you have two at all? Kind of like having a backup?
