I’m considering picking up a GT2 Fanatec wheel to use specifically for Forza 3, and Forza 4 when it releases. I understand that the GT2 is essentially a reshelled Turbo S wheel…so I’m looking for those that have experience with Fanatec and Forza 3.

I’m specifically interested in the feel of the force feedback of the wheel in Forza 3 compared to the XB wheel. Does it give you good turning resistance? Will it rotate back to center with quick speed? Does it have life and jerk you around if you get into the grass, hit a bump, off camber corner, etc? The shifter and pedals of the Fanatecs I’m very experienced with (have a Carrera) and realize the build materials are completely different.

I always felt like the XB wheel had weak feeling FFB…but the behavior and inputs where spot on even for being a 270 wheel.

To be honest, the Turbo S feels better on Forza then GT5. It feels like it was more made for the Xbox then the PS3. FFB was much stronger on Forza, to the point it hurt your arms and made you tired. I say give it a go.

You can't even compare the 2 wheels. I liked the wireless wheel too, until I got a G25. After using it I couldn't even play forza anymore witht he wireless wheel. Now I have a turbo s wheel and it's even better then the G25.

You will not be dissapointed in the fanatec wheel. It will blow your mind that microsoft ever charged more then 30$ for the wireless wheel. When I got the turbo s wheel, that's what I sold my wireless one for, 30$.

IMO the fanatec is what makes Forza 3 go. light years ahead of the xbox wheel and please don't ever compare physics with forza or gt using only a controller. The wheel was in fact tailored towards Forza 3 and it was tested for specifically the Forza 3 beta. I have a PS3 and was born n bred on the GT series (Gt1-3) but something has stopped me from pulling the trigger on GT5, even a month after it's release. Honestly, Forza 3 is good without the wheel, but with it . . . WOW. Im sure GT5 is the biz with the G25, but I've never tried that wheel before. The fanatec, though pricey, is worth the $$ if you are a true sim fan. And me being born from the GT series, Forza, like GT, is a true sim if you have proper setup.

The MS wireless wheel is the worst wheel that requires AC power that I have ever used in my life. Imagine if a madcatz wheel used a wall socket? You'd have a competitor for the MS wireless, lol
