man, i just supped my 1000bhp skyline with 40,000 cr. racing tyres and boy does it make a difference. in one of the amatuer races with other skylines, the laguna seca track, with normal sports tyres i was trailing behind the first car, pretty close race, and sometimes skidding off the track because of the sheer power. once i got the super tyres on, everything was under control! it dramatically enhances steering, and grip on road. i was able to beat all the skylines with 13 seconds difference!! yes 13 seconds!!

so i would definitely recommend them for short races:)

Basically what u get with the super soft & soft tires is good grip. Just be careful, use it on races that dont require tire life. If u get into a later race in Pro with soft, ur happiness will only last a matter of two laps.

I tested a Mustang at Seattle, I was running sport tires first and on the edge of out of control. I went to t7 soft tires and knocked six seconds off my lap time. In fact, every lap I ran on the t7's was faster than my fastest lap on the sport tires.

Hey gurdas

The super soft tyres are great, but don't get too attached to them. In the longer races later in the game, it is better to use some of the harder tyres.

So try to use some of the harder ones once in a while, or you vill have a problem later, when your cars handling is only 1/3 of what you are used to.

yep, later stages are a real wake up call. Just started the proffessional level. Softs can go off in a lap.

Even though I'm not really into the Amateur races yet, I won't buy anything softer than Medium Slicks. I just don't want to get too used to the luxury. I've seen the results in a few of the Enduros. A car that was easily 10 seconds faster per lap than everybody else finished last by a huge margin, because he had to pit every two laps.

Me? Or him? I only ever use Super Slicks or Medium Slicks, depending on the race.

Well the Tyre connects all that Torque to the Tarmac so your choice is Vital: :rotfl:

In an FF Car use slicks on the front cause boy do they wear in Front Wheel Drive.....

In Races depending on Lap Amount use hard wearing rubber to last the distance.....:janitor:

BTW, does anyone here actually use different tires for the front and rear to get even tire wear? (not a problem in some cars, of course) It just seems... so annoying, so I totally disregard that part of the process. :D

Actually, I have put different tires front and rear to even tire wear. The Lotus Elise, for example, wears tires at vastly different rates. The rears much faster than the fronts. So, I put softer tires in front and I get fairly even tire wear and better grip on the front end.

As soon as I encounter a car that doesn't eat front tires, I will do so. All of my current cars are much harder on the fronts, but most cars also have inherent understeer. Even though I would get more even wear, I don't want to add any grip to the back when I've spent all that time dialing out the understeer - so I stick with all four the same for now.

I also try to dial out the understeer. I just hope to get a few more laps out of my tires. I've won more than one race on pit strategy over HP and driving skill.

Oh, I agree on that score. But the way I see it, the life of the rear tires is irrelevant if the fronts are the determining factor. Softening up the rears so they wear out faster doesn't help the fronts last any longer, even if it does mean you're using up tires at the same rate.

That another reason why I don't even out the tire wear... it doesn't affect my other tires, plus it's always nice to know that at least two of your tires can hold if you miss the pit on two orange tires. :D

Wrong way. I even out with the tires that last the longest. If the rears last longer, I go to a harder front tire.
I want to be able to either not pit at all or pit half as often as the AI.
The handling will even out. And dropping the front end will dial out any understeer the harder tires cause.

well by doing that for at least the first 3 laps or more depending on how good you are youll have alot of push, understeer and you might loose vital time, I go all hard on all four so when the car slides it does so evenly.
