How much memory card space does GT4 take up?

It might be a bit early to be asking, but does anyone have any idea yet how much space a GT4 save will take up on a PS2 memory card? I'm asking because i only have around 100kb left after Colin McRae Rally 05 took up 4mb of space. If GT4 is a big file i'll need to buy another memory card when i pre-order GT4.

I backed up a few of my saves to my PS2 HD to make space using MC Manager v0.1 by KaylaKaze ;)

No need for memory cards when you have a 512MB partition on the HD dedicated to saves :P

2.5MB eh? Not suprising with 1000 car garage & 'diary records'. I've got 2 cards myself, shouldn't be too hard to free up the space especially with the aid of my Xport :)

I've got a MAXDrive. It works just fine for what it is, which is just a run-of-the-mill Flash drive. It's only got 16MB, but it can actually hold more saves than two memory cards, because it compresses them (like a ZIP file) when it stores them on the Drive itself. And, of course, the bonus that you can just pop it into your PC and copy the files right off.. my computer instantly recognizes it as a simple removable drive, with no special software or drivers required.

I think I might have to check up on my mem-card, though.. not sure if I have 2.5MB free. But since I do have a MAXDrive, I'm free to delete anything I like, because it's already backed up on my PC. :)

I wonder why the game save is so much more that GT3. My GT3 saves are no more that 100k or so on my Max Drive. I'm glad I won't have to delete anything now that I have the Max Drive.

Wow, 2.5MB? I have to clear most of my MGS3 pictures and various game saves to make room for that one. Geez. I'm not surprised, though. I bet Sony will sell a lot of memory cards now. :sly:

get the limited edition GT4 memory card, there should be a few around online.

I bought the Prologue one back when they were selling it a few months ago. Might as well get this one too to make a collection of them.

I'm not exactly sure why people have like 5 memory cards. I only have 3 games in my posession at the all times. Currently it is:

Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Burnout 3: Takedown

I just take back what I don't play, like a 3 for one deal, that' s what I will be doing with GT4 at EB Games, I'll get rid of those three above, as long as I complete Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. I'm a very SLOW gamer, I usually don't try and rush to beat a game.

For example IGN claims Burnout 3: Takedown single player will take 30 hours to beat, it took me 60 hours.

They claimed San Andreas would take 60 hours, but I am at 34% and have played 45:23 hours. If I chug along at my pace I will beat the game at about 136 hours.

And of course 3 games on your mem card isn't going to fill it.

With a 200 car garage, a GT3 save will take about 200k. So it should follow that a 1000 car garage in GT4 will take 1000k at least. Then you have the diary recording things, and lots more tracks to keep records for, and more complex settings files, more information stored per car with things like body integrity.....2.5 megs is perfectly reasonable for what it provides. Good thing I picked up a Max drive the other day.

I have 3 PS2 cards, and 12 (yes, 12!) PSone cards. I didn't buy them, well, aside from my first Psone and PS2 - everyone I know knows I'm a gamer, so they spend holidays making sure I'm always equipped - waiting for the cheap bastards to get me a DFP! (joke, of course!)

Thankfully I got a MaxDrive... its only 10 dollars more than a new Memory Card, and alot more useful. I can upload my replays for the WRS now, along with back up my games saves. I've had drunks delete my GT3 data and other mishaps... its a nice for of insurance...
