How much time do you spend on a Seasonal Time Trail

I spent 6 hours on the Elise TT for c.27th place... including a lot of time spent fiddling with the tune.

Not sure I have the talent for top 10 times, even if I had more time.

Please disregard my vote, as I only looked at the time spent. Kind of silly to put the "Top 20" restriction. That limits the survey to the very few, and means most can't vote.

I rarely spend more than a couple of hours. I am happy to get gold, and have rarely cracked the top thousand except those times when I happen to be one of the first. Then I can watch my time steadily fall down the board into oblivion.

Perhaps you should have split your survey, into two parts. One for time spent, and another for typical rank.

Not silly... The question was posed to find out if the super fast guys were fast because they invested a lot of time in to the events (or not, as the case maybe)... not to find out the average time spent by all skill levels.

Anything from 1 to 4 hours although on a rare few I will spend anything up to 8 hours on them but that's really rare and only because I enjoy the car and track combination.

Difficult to answer as getting a top 20 position is very different from getting a top 10 one.
For a top 20, if I have a car with a nice setup 2 hours is enough ,but to go that extra mile in order to be around top 5 I need about 6 to 8 hours. But it really depends on the car/track combo, amount and quality of others players and all that.

the tt are getting much more competitive 1 second off used to be top ten now its top 50 etc think thats great the more drivers in the mix the better

The set-up point is really key... if someone gives you a ready made fabulous tune it takes a lot less time to be competitive. If you've got to tune it yourself that alone could take a good few hours.

I don't really enjoy chansing my ghost for hours on end. For some seasonals, where I really like the cars, I will run a dozen laps or so. For most seasonals, I run just enough laps to get the gold, cash and prizes then move on - that usually takes about one lap.
