Kinda disappointed thought that it's all just 1 car, really, they should have separate Chargers, Monte Carlos, Fusions and Camry's.

Actually, Monte Carlos and Camrys were shown. Chargers and Fusions were the ones that were missing.

Monte Carlos are no longer in the Sprint Cup.......(Impala SS)
And Dodge uses the Challenger.

As long as we can use the stock cars in tracks besides ovals like the GT original tracks, I will be happy. I wanna try to get those beasts sideways on Eiger ;)

They are currently using the Charger in Sprint Cup.

Some of the older NASCAR vehicles would have been awesome. Not sure about the nomenclature but it was the car they used before the one they use now.

It was labeled an Intrepid, was really a Stratus SXT. Not sure why they did this, maybe to sneak multiple models for advertising.

Technically it's an Avenger, they just have it labeled as a Charger. They did they with the Intrepid also, from 2004-2007.

I think you mean from 2001 to 2004 because they introduced the Charger in 2005.

Oh crap, I was thinking avenger the whole time. Why the 🤬 did i type challenger?

Really? I thought they did label it as Intrepid for some time in the past....Hmm.

technically it's not an avenger or a charger.. dodge can basically call it whatever they want as long as a dodge engine is in it.. er Fiat, formally benz... or whatever :ouch:

wikipedia "car of tomorrow" for clarification

and yes, intrepid was used a while back

I came across a interesting (old) interview from game pro which suggest we may get more than the 16 cars on track here's part of the interview with Kazunori Yamauchi
GP: You announced that you're bringing the Daytona speedway track into GT5: Prologue. Is that something you've always wanted to add to the series?

Yes. Not only looking at it as a new track option for GT, but also because we brought up the A.I. opponent cars to twenty cars [racing at the same time]. Without that, a track like this is not interesting to race on. You need [lots of cars] to make that happen, and we're finally at that stage.
so I am assuming that if at that stage of development they had 20 cars running then we may see more cars soon:)

Exactly when was that interview made?

i love 200 lap races... lol. esp if the rewards is millions of credits... it wouldn't get boring i promise. i used to do endurance reaces on gt4 and loved it. I guess EA realized this game was gonna make a killer so they said ... "forget NASCAR 2010"

the 2010 camaro needs to be the damn pace car... forget the challenger... and it better be more than 16 cars... i think NASCAR has 30ish?

sorry for posting 2x in a row... too late to take it out now.

30 for Trucks and Usually 43 for Nationwide and Cup. Also, I doubt they will hae more then 16 just for NASCAR as its not the main focus.

Has no one thought about the horrid car collision physics that GT has, there would be no slight tap sending cars sideways like in pc nascar or in real life. That fact alone ruins any console nascar game to date for me. Also in GT5p you can only get about one foot between two cars before you hit an invisible barrier and bounce away. The exciting part of nascar is racing inches apart knowing one slight bump can send you saling at 200mph.

You do realize you are going off essentially a beta-testing Demo all the while there is a good possibility that the game has progressed beyond that point.

Of course, but GT3 and 4 had the same poor physics when it came to cars colliding with anything. I hope PD has fixed that for GT5, but I guess we won't know until we play it.

I doubt they will put more then 16 cars just for NASCAR, especially since its not the primery focus despite the appearance of the license.

I hope KY was watching the race tonight and then tomorrow night's race. The one thing I have a concern about is the ability to drive 3 or even 2 wide for long periods of time without struggling to keep the car in your lane.

I have played all of the EA nascar games, and have never been able to drive 3 cars wide for very long without trading a little paint. With that said, I really can't see GT being worse then EA's attempts at nascar. Besides probably not having 43 cars on the track, every other aspect of the game will probably be better then any nascar game we have seen in awhile.

The one thing I really hope GT5 has, is online leagues and seasons. It would literally make the game playable for years to me, if they would implement a league feature.
