i know its not really related to GT3 but at what age did u start driving?
i started at 13 but had to do it "quietly" in big carparks.

First time ever, but just steering sitting on moms lap I was 7, and really drive on the way to vegas when we were well out of Los Angeles I got to dirve for an hour at 60 MPH when I was 12. I could barely hold the wheel and keep my foot on the padel and I could barely keep it in a straight line but it was fun.

I was 8 when I started driving mini gokarts...damn that was fast :p I'm an ICA driver now btw;) My first real car drive was on my 11th in a volvo 850gle automatic :p Fun as hell:D:D I'm 15 now and I'm allowed to park both my parents' cars in the garage...hehe, Sometimes me and my dad take the S80 T6 for a spin around the countryside :D "Quit redlining son!" "Shove it oldman!! Or do you want to walk home?!" "I'll tell mom!" :p

have any of you ever had any bad experiences while learning to or driving.
i remember the very first time i had driven, my uncle had this crappy old mark1 escort. well my curiosity got the better of me and i decided to "borrow" his keys. got about half way down the road before i put it into a fence leading into someones back garden. luckily it stalled after hitting the fence but still ended up rolling into the middle of their lawn.
my uncle didnt go as crazy as i thought he would, just saying it was his fault for showing me how to start the car.

I remember when I first got my taste of driving at about age 7. My dad let me sit on his lap and I steered while he controled the gas and brakes. We were on the highway. I remember switching from lane to lane trying to maneuver around the cars like a madman. No blinker usage here. It was fun, but when we got off the highway I would let my dad take back over because I was...............I was..............afraid of 90 degree turns :(.

I can't remember exactly, but I rode minibikes or small motorcycles from a fairly young age. I also grew up out in the country and would drive a pickup around fields, etc, while doing some work. That had to be 13-14 or so.

15, just in january. I drove like a pro, parking perfectly in between the lines. my dad was amazed. I'm just waiting for him to fix the trans then I will go for the permit.

12 here. I drove so horridly that I wasnt allowed to try again until I was 14:D By then I had so much experience watching my mom drive like a maniac that I oculd do it well to:) Ofcourse, that wont me much when getting my license...

I remember around 7 or 8 my dad would tell me to steer. Difference here was that I was sitting in the passenger seat. This didn't happen often, but it makes your arm hurt real fast.

I scare some people when I drive now though. Either following too close, speeding slightly, and always cutting things close. I seem to be real good at that :p

I did have a go kart when I was little, but our road driving priviledges were taken away, so no more flying up and down the dirt road

hehe i was 7,and i went around a corner at about 38 or sumthin my dad tells me,he says it scared him because it was a 90 degree turn...in a honda civic cr-x

as for go karts,my dad and i just built one,its made from a light yet durable swing set frame my dad races me side by side in his customised 78' 325 horse chevy pickup truck,i keep up with him very well with a two speed trannie with a side mounted 10 horse engine,my dad says it probably accelerates 0-30 in about 3 seconds!!!!!,its top speed is around 64 mph!!! we just timed it it on 0-60 times......

did not see this thread, my answer is at poll:has gt3 affected you'r driving?
here it is!!
My first experience was when i was 9 years old my dad gave me the keys to the car and said :"let's see if you can drive" i'm not kidding you guys, we had a Fiat 1800 autuomatic, i went on the freeway for a distance of 15 miles without having any problems, my dad thought i was stealling the car behind his back, 3 years later i drove a stick shift, in a B.M.W 518 i sucked, i was 14, and the only thing my dad said was move over i'm driving, 2 weeks later i found out where i was going wrong.
snce then i have been driving stick shift, but where i used to drive you have to be the king of the road and if somebody tried to cut you off, you had to show him who is the boss!
you own the road and nobody else, no signals, no traffic lights, you put down you'r own rules.
so when i came back to the states i found it very hard driving behind other cars, and waiting on traffic signals and for signs, eventhough i won't lie to you from time to time i get the urge for road rage, and when i do it i feel much better!
this is some sick stuff, but the way streets here are constructed i feel like i'm on a race track cutting corners out-in-out or vice versa, you know you have to make it fun!
oh i forget, where i first started driving, it was in country called Lebanon, where every driver is a racer, and if you where not a Schumi fan, then you are the enemy and they will hunt you down littrelraly! 😈 😈 mess with them, even in the middle of the freeway, they will get down and beat the s h i t out of you, these people are crazy!!

On the subject of go carts...We went to this go cart place here in STL and its a long smoothe track with no walls. I was 6(we still go there sometimes)and I was in the cart with my dad. He for some unknown reason just took his hands off the wheel and said "Steer", I was kinda scared, I never did that before, and I said "No, I don't want to" and he said "Steer or were gonna crash!" and I put my hands on the wheel and steered.

Last time I was there with my brother. We got in our cars(the cars are non body, just the old fashion frame)and I had the slowest car there. So we decided to hit eachother, and then I found the throttle cable and spead away, but it was the end of our run, and everyone stopped at the end of the main strait(they don't have the electrical engine cuts)in front of the guy with the stop sign. I was alone on the track, and the guy had to stay there untill I came around, then I was on the strait, and decided to show my happyness of have the slowest car. Every one was in 2 lines, and I made a 3rd. I was going full speed and slamed on the brakes and screetched to a stop, less than a foot from the guy. He looked as if he was gonna be run over, like  . Me and my brother were laughing as we drove into the parking area.

That reminds me of the first time I drove a go-kart. It was me and my cousin. He was about 14 at the time I guess and I was maybe 8 or so. It was on a short oval track. We picked our cars and went out on the track. He sped away from me and lapped me numerous times as I cruised around at a slow pace. At the end when it was time for us to park, my cousin had slowed down in preparation of going into the pit lane, and here I came like a madman and nailed him in the back bumper. The impact sent him past the pit lane and we both had to go back around to get back to the pits. After we got out he asked me why I was going so slow. I replied:

"Well I thought if I went too fast the car would blow up."

Don't ask.

hehe

I've done stuff like that. I'm always slamed on the gas, no matter how hard the corner is. My brother poped a tire on a go cart at this other place, I was right behind him and BAM! His right rear tire exploded and there was a lotg of smoke. When it poped I swerved side to side and then he went around the corner(crushing the flat tire), and wiped out and I T-boned him. The whole cart went off the gound. We still had several laps to go and he just kept it floored and the tire was non existent at the end of the run. One of the officials was laughing.

We've also seen many people jam a 2 seater cart in the 1 seater lane. That pisses the people off! ;)
