I know im a bit early on this but...

How old were you when you discovered Santa was a fake? How did you find out? What was your reaction? How did you feel, were you sad?

I was 9 and i was pissed cause my mom lied to me all that time. She told cuase i discovered a huge stash of presents under the cellur stairs and she didn't wan't me to tell me siblings.

La La Laa! I can't hear you! Santa's real, REAL I TELL YOU!

I found that out when I was seven. I caught my mom stashing presents under the tree.

I cant tell my seven year old and five year old cousin though.:trouble:

I don't really remember thinking he was real. Almost as if I always knew mom and dad were Santa. But I could just be thinking highly of myself, which I often do. (:

I would say that I knew for sure around 5. That's when I can remember knowing that mom was wrapping my 'Santa' presents.

:eek::eek:WHAT DO YOU MEAN, SANTA's FAKE???:eek::eek:

I met him once in the Oak Park Mall. I wasn't even mad when I only got one of the things that I told him I wanted.
Now you, you say he's not real...

I don't believe you....

I guess that's kind of how it was for me. Either that or I saw her writing a card for someone else and she signed it Santa. Then it all clicked.

I don't remember being upset about it. Big woop! It's not like I've ever met the fool. He just leaves me the loot. It's all about the loot, kids.

No one ever told me but I kinda figured it out. One year I just stopped believing. I never like found my mom stashing presents or anything like that. I think the reason that started my disbelief was one year I noticed "you know, we don't have a chimney. How is Santa gonna get in?!?". Then I think I just said he must not be real.

I AM my inner child. I've asked Santa for some Lego for Christmas.

Lego RULES! I still play with it once or twice a year when I visit my parents, they saved all my technic lego from when I was a kid.

Well i do remember thinking Santa was real, but i don't quite recall when i fiqured it all out. But, i'm pretty sure i fiqured it out myself.

I still have a few sets of built Lego sitting in my closet. I refuse to grow up.

My girlfriend bought me the "Seahawk" from the Lego Pirates range for our first anniversary. 'Nuff said. :D

I'm hoping for the Williams F1 Racer for Christmas.

I can creat cool things on my own design. I whish i would take pics of the things i build like trucks, robots, ships. but i get bored with them and play crash test.

Oh, and back on topic please.

I was about 5 years old, actually 6 though because my birthday is the 6th of December. I found out just because I am smart like that. My mom told me that there was some fat guy that delivered presents to the whole world in one night, yeah right! I don't know a single fat guy that could do that, and with flying reindeer; I just didn't buy the whole story. I'm not sad and I could care less, the only promise I had to make was to not tell my little sister.

Attila, let me just say this right now, YOU ROCK!! This has to be the coolest thread I've seen in a while! Anyway, back to the question at hand, for me, santa has always been fake, the main character of a really good story. My parents always thought that if they lied about Santa coming down the chimney, that I'd never believe them about anything else ever again when I found out they lied. Were they right? How do I know? I didn't grow up believing in a strange fat guy coming down my chimney with a bag of toys...

I spent the last ten minutes thinking about this, and I really can't remember. It seems as if I've always considered him contrived. Probably because my parents were so earnest to prove that he wasn't. Anything my parents try to do to me backfires. They're absolutely disgusted that I've turned out a cynical, atheist pig. They still love me though. Nonsensical, if you ask me.

Santa isn't actually fake. There's a fat old guy with a snowy white beard in my town who legally changed his name to "Santa Claus", and he used to do charity work every year around Christmas, buying presents for kids who's parents couldn't afford them. Pretty nice guy from what I remember, he used to visit one of the bars my mom worked in once or twice a week.
