Anyone who shares some of your genes (parents, grandparents and siblings, but not siblings' children) and anyone you or they are knocking boots with (step-parents, siblings-in-law). Sums it up just fine for me.
Well, that is going to make my list rather larger.
Also, what about boats?

M5Power
Maybe he's talking about the M Coupe? Though the least powerful one of those had 240hp, and that was US-only, and even then it was limited to '98-'00 (in '01 they got the 333hp M3 engine - yummmm).

You and I (and just about every authority on the subject) think it's 76hp but don't ever try to convince a Prius owner of that - they're convinced that the horsepower should include both the gasoline AND electric motors, despite the fact that they rarely operate simultaneously and when they do it's never at full power. To my knowledge the combined output is 143hp, but that's only in theory - it's never actually produced. I think the absolute peak is 110hp @ 5000rpm.

Just quoting Toyota on that one. ;)

Edit: Hmm, surely somebody has thrown one on a dyno? (Heads off to Google)

550 chevelle 420 hp camaro 100 hp kawasaki vulcan, 350 hp tahoe, 2x 206 hp explorers, 215 coopers work mini S, 300 hp camaro, 115 hp le baron, 147 hp miata

and if cars that are on order count then a 500 hp 2007 shelby gt500

equals 3119 i believe

Dad: Dodge Magnum RT - 340 HP
Mom: Ford Expedition - 300 HP
Me: Bicycle - 1/8 HP

Total: 640 1/8 HP.

Not reaching 1000 HP - Priceless.

My family only has a Dodge Grand Caravan with the 3.8L engine.

So only 166hp for me.

Damn small family.

Dad: '94 BMW 730i, 218 bhp when new
Mum: '95 Nissan Sunny, not nearly enough bhp when new
Me: '97 Subaru Legacy GT-B, 276 bhp when new standard.

Total: 494 for the two cars I have figures for, and if anyone knows what kind of power the CA15 DE makes, let me know.

YSSMAN
Well, if we are to alter to immediate family:

ME: 115 BHP '96 Volkswagen Jetta Wolfsburg
BROTHER: 89 BHP '88 Mazda 323 SE
MOM: 125 BHP: '95 Toyota Camry "Special Edition"
THOR (Dad): 425 BHP '68 Chevrolet Camaro
THOR (Dad): 295 BHP '05 Chevrolet Avalanche LS 4X4
STEPMOM: 291 BHP '03 GMC Envoy SLT

So 1544 BHP for the family, about 309 BHP per-person, or just about a 2006 Chevrolet Impala SS per-person, and a Briggs-Straton lawn mower as well.

115
89
125
425
295
291

= 1340

iceburns288
Me:
Nissan Z: 305hp

I thought you have a 2005 model which (not 100% sure about the US) is 280hp (besides 2005 limited edition models which were 300hp) until the 2006 models which got the 300hp tuned engines?

So.. My Brother-in-law Greg's new Chevy 2500HD crew cab -300

And my other brother-in-law Paul's 2003 Ford F350 Crew Cab -290?

So 590 on top of 2955 is 3545? But screw it. Powripper has us all outclassed. And, My dad owns too many damn vehicles.

Wait!! I was adopted!

My father owns 13 vehicles, of which the least powerfull is the Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited which is about 250hp I think. I don't really feel like doing the math, but I bet I'd be up near the top of the list by riding on his coat-tail alone.

If Famine's definition is true, add an extra 0 to my total. I thought the original poster meant like, people in your household. My dad's side of the family (his mother and new wife and her children and himself) are all hardcore drag racers and they've got 5 drag cars that all break 700hp, and their street cars supposedly are around 400-500hp. But they also live about 650 miles away, and I've never seen any of 'em in person, just heard about them.

Which really shouldn't count, and that's why I didn't include them, only the cars currently in my driveway.

Edit: This post needs a disclaimer, I'm sure...

This post is not me trying to brag. I don't like my dad, his wife, or her kids, they're all hicks with nitrous. I mentioned them only to prove a point.

Jug's car ain't got no power steerin'

290 stock, but mine's not stock. Just a few bolt-ons, no extraordinary power but a little extra scoot:)

By the way, cars on order don't count ;). If they do, I gotta change my list!

Hmm.. We're a smallhorses family :sly::
Peugeot 306 Sedan 1.4l: 75BHP
That's it. Close family, I mean. And 4-wheel vehicles only...

Because if you count in the scooter, moms partner's Subaru Forester Turbo, dads partner's ol' Skoda (unknown model to me), Mitsubishi Van, and '88 Corolla, and the Golf GTi that grandpa own... it's about 600-700HP more.

Dad - '92 Subaru Legacy 110 BJP ('98 Legacy engine)
Mom - '95 2.4L 2TZ-FE 150 BHP Toyota Previa (it actually goes up to 180 km/h )
Aunt Mallo - Toyota MR2 GT-S - 240 BHP, dunno remeber year, '98?
Uncles:

Ford Gallaxy - 135 HP
Ford Focus Max, T-max or soomething - 120 BHP

Makes a total of...755 BHP 👍

Oh my God. This thread makes me feel really (looks down in pants...) puny.

105 hp - Nissan Sunny Pickup (don't know if it's an N12 or B13, but since my workers are the ones driving it, frankly, I don't care much).
130 hp - Mazda 626 - when it's running, that is.
142 hp - Ford Lynx (Protege) - the reason why I haven't gotten around to fixing said 626
75 hp - Isuzu XUV - don't ask, it's just a truck

452 horses. Not bad. Would qualify for supercar territory... maybe ten years ago.

2005 LS430-290hp
2005 RX330-230hp
2002 3.2 TL-S-260hp
2002 Xterra-170hp
2004 Galant-230hp
2004 Pilot-240hp
2004 Ralliart-160hp
1991 Toyota pickup-116hp
2002 Sedona-195hp
1992 SE-R-140hp
1995 Talon AWD-400hp(figure on pump gas)
1993 Stealth RT/TT-300hp

You could make a VW-style Group-B car out of it. VW had this Group-B car (or Pikes Peak Hillclimb vehicle) that had two engines - one for the front and one for the rear. So how about making a 4E-4WD car?

Wait a second. Is this what your dream family would have, or do you take "close family" as anyone with the same anchestors, including that famous actor whose mothers grandmother was the cousin of your mothers' grandmother?

If I do any seriously twisted wrenching, it'll be with that 626 engine in the back end of a Ford Festiva (they call them Kia Prides here). No shogun, yes, but once I've stuck dual webbers on it and converted it to run without an ECU, it'll be lots of fun. Shouldn't cost me a cent if I sell off the rest of the 626 and the original Festiva engine.

Opel Corsa 1,2 8V - 75HP
Opel Corsa 1,2 16V Sport Edition - 75HP
Opel Astra H 1,4 16V Twinport - 90HP

= 240HP...........not a lot, but in the meantime there's no space/money for more!
