It's a concept Ford GT.
I picked it up for just under one million in the UCD.
I heard this thing is extremely rare.
Heres a real life picture.

I don't know why people are calling cars 'rare'. There are no rare cars in the game, especially with duping in full force the last two months.

Not many people have found it to dupe it i've heard.
I've never seen one in the marketplace.
I've been playing this game for months and only saw it once.

Some people (like me) don't buy into duping. If I have to choose between say an XJR-9, a Speed 8, and a Sauber C9, it would help to know which is more likely to show up again in the UCD...

Thank you. Even before that I haven't seen any (non-anecdotal) evidence that the UCD had some sort of weighted pseudo random system in place.

The GT is more "rare" than skyline by virtue of there being only 6 or so GTs compared to 3 dozen skylines. I doubt that specific GT is any more rare than any specific skyline.

If you want the car, buy it. It's a GT, it's cool. Personally I'd buy the one from the Ford dealer.

Of course. But the thing is, as it is now, nobody has figured out a clear pattern about the UCD.

Some people have never seen a [Insert possibly rare car name here] in 1000 game days while others have dozen of times in the same period.

Since it's a different story for everyone, all the "How rare is the [Insert possibly rare car name here]?" threads are pretty pointless.

Ok i get fact the the UCD is different for each person.
But.. has anyone replying found this car?

debating on buying it now...its on for 999,047 with less than 250kms on it
checking the matrix to see what's so special about it. there are other GTs in the UCD, the one that says 'no stripe' for like 150k. this '02 must be the "prototype" of the GT just not named "prototype"
BTW is your white with blue stripes??
checkin the Matrix, in the game there are only the two '05s that appear in the UCD stripe/no stripe, this '02 used and the '06 new from the dealership. When it comes to 'stock' ford GTs

Yes, I've had it pop up in my.. I'd guess 3 times so far that I can recall.

My suggestion once again is if you've been looking for that car or plan on buying every car in the game, buy it. Otherwise don't. If you just want a GT, I'd buy the premium one.

Buy it!
The rarity of cars has been measured somewhat by it's presence in online garage lists:

e.g. I have most cars in my garage:
http://www.mygranturismo.net/user_sheet.php?id=9676
look at the entries of the cars in the lst: the value on the far right is a rarity scale out of 10, 10 being the highest. The Ford GT 02 is a 10.

That still only shows the rarity amongst the users, not the rarity in the game. By that I mean there could be a total crapbox of a car that appears in every single cycle of the UCD but no one buys it because it's terrible. That car would be a "10" on the rare scale.

I've seen the Ford GT a couple of times for example but I didn't buy it, the car isn't any more rare because I chose not to purchase.

I saw this come up loads of times on my UCD, but i never bought it. The only car I've never seen in my UCD is the Tommy Kaira ZZII. I don't know why anyone would care if a car in GT5 is rare or not, anyone can have any car in the game, it's just a matter of time.

I agree with you fully. Rare does not mean good and the rarity of a car is difficult to determine. That's why I said 'somewhat'. But it could also be relatively rare. There is no proof one way or the other. I just know that I have searched for crap cars in the 5 to 7 rarity range and gone through hundreds of days and nearly 10000 cars in the UCD and not seen them yet. I feel there must be many people who try to collect all the Fords and that this must be the most rare of the bunch.

Ahh the ZZII my 1st and favorite supercar in GT5

(Sorry off topic please continue :D)

In all honesty i think the cars which turn up in UCD is a lot different for everyone.
For example, i've only ever seen 1 Jaguar XJ220 in my UCD since having game on release day, whereas my mate has had 6-7.
I think its done that way to encourage trading, something that if true has really been pee'd all over with recent patch, i see a lot of the same LM and race cars which my buddies dont get too, again if its true and there are several different UCD 'rarity tables' then resticting trading could cause people to be unable to collect all cars

So rare that it turned up for me twice in two successive UCDs (not simultaneously, but one new UCD and then the next new UCD. Think it was 9 game days apart).

No cars are rarer than the other, only by chance. What also interests me is the '10 rarity' on myGranTurismo.net, but I think this is because people don't want it. They skim through their UCD, see a ford gt and probably already have a few. Or, if they look in more detail they see the price and think it's a rip off.

I received the '02 GT from my 1000 ticket, which means it has 0 miles. So, if the used one is rare, which it is, (people who are trying to have all cars always seem to need it and I never see it available) then my 0 mile one is a gold mine. Especially now with the 1 million Cr. trade cap which this car barely fits in :)

As far as I can gather, the "rarity" value in mygranturismo.net is a little off the mark (I can give examples of cars they give a low rarity value for, such as the AC 427, has only turned up twice for me). The power figures are also a little vague (often don't take into account mileage/engine wear, breaking in, oil change etc) but that's another story. Still a very useful site!

Somebody in these forums figured out the "cycle" of specific cars in the UCD so you could calculate when they re-appear, but with 1.06 this apparently went out the window. Not sure if anyone has unlocked how it works since.

I do think some cars are perhaps a little rarer than others, but at the same time you have to remember the UCD at any one time shows a random selection of cars out of a possible 1000+. There are always going to be some where you are just unlucky.

For me that's the VW Nardo, only seen it once VERY early on when I couldn't afford it and not seen it since. The GT '02 I saw once a while ago, when I bought it, and once more recently. For anyone into their Ford GTs, it is a little different to later models (the back in particular looks different)

I find it to be one of the rarest cars in the game, more rare than most LM cars even. In over 2,000 days I only saw it once. Almost every other car appeared at least twice in that span.

I have it also, can't remember when I bought it but I did....

And have the GT from the dealership and the LM Race Car (I love GTs)
