How to Beat those Supercars...

I am at a difficult point of the game in which the next few challenges(amatuer) i have to contend with all feature supercars(or racecars) such as the castrol supra, raybrig nsx, denso supra and all those kind of cars. The only true racecar i have( i mean had.....i sold it ) was the spoon s2000, which after the one mod i was allowed to do to it, still got creamed. It handled well, but was so badly outclassed in speed, it didn't have a chance.

What cars that are able to be purchased(preferably for less than 100 g's) that i can use to overcome these stickered menaces?? I have a 700bhp GT-R and a 800bhp viper, but both are fairly hard to control and i get beaten on the corners. Do i persist with these cars, or is a new approach required? :guilty:

Take that 800hp Viper to the Professional "Like the Wind" race. Fit some race rubber (don't bother pitting, there's no need) and lean the gears out a little so that 250mph is within reach (keep running qualifying until you're happy with your top speed).

You'll win a Mazda 787B. Problem solved.

Hit the brakes way, way earlier then you currently do. Consider cutting down on the horsepower (even though the cars are already detuned from full tune) until you're just slightly better than AI (read: qualify), get the right gear ratio. Too much hp on standard cars is bad anyway because they have no grip in high speed corners because of lack of downforce.

Viper should be okay for most amateur races, but yeah do what the other guy said. Get the 787B from Like the Wind. It's the best non-F1 circuit car in the game.

"the other guy"? "the other guy"?

You just made my list.

Win the European Cup in the Amatuer League, just win the first 4 races. Save your game at the end of the 4th race. Skip the fifth race, collect your prize money but more importantly you want the car. Keep repeating this until you get the Gillet Vertigo. You won't blitz the races like you will with the 787b but it will be more fun with the Veritgo.

Best Way to beat the race cars cheaply is to buy a camaro ss and supe it up....great handling ( when the suspension is right ) and can go to 700 hp.....with a gentle throttle you will easily smoke those bums...

The C5R is an easy win (aquiring it), and it doesn't need to be upgraded much (mainly just tires) to handle whatever they send your way. I'm using it now to finish Amateur League again.

Cheers,

MasterGT

F310 tread easy with Famine. Even though he's 'Not A Moderator' he has inhuman powers in tuning hybrids ;)

And IMO the C5R and Camaro Race Cars are the best non F1 cars...

the speed 12 is good, but a bugger to get it...
but yeah i agree with what famine said, the 787B is a fantastic car, it handles amazingly.

The 787B is a truly a great car that you can win right now. As the first response of the thread suggested, just tune your gearing so that it is very wide and do "like the wind" and the 787B is yours- you can win any amateur race with it.

Your theory is 100 % correct but if someone as Travi_D is racing at the amateur level he ( or she ) obviously didn't get the S license yet so no 787B for him.
That was my situation. I just got my S license last week but finished the amateur leage ... 1 year ago.
The GT One road car can be acquired early in the amateur league ( GT world championship ) and is a real butt kicker.

mmm...I'd say that you go hang out in the rally section for a little bit. You'll have to really upgrade one of your cars to get a win in a rally race, but it's well worth it. One of the first races gets you a ford focus (forgot which race...go check the prize cars section), and that'll easily hold out through all the rallies at stock settings with a bigger turbo. And...it can be tuned really well for track use, too. The fact that it comes with all the upgrades helps if you're strapped for cash. As I recall, I could put away the Oreca Viper and the C5R with the focus fairly easily. And....somewhere early in the amateuer, try to get a Camaro race car. It won't kill the competition like the 787B, but it can still really clean up.

Or...if you're really good, just head over to the time trials and pick up your esperante.....

That's my two cents worth. Have fun! :)

Just for fun, to remember the times I was a newbie :)
10 minutes ago, just finished the 1st race amateur league, GT world championship, 1st race ( Tokyo )
Car: Skyline GTR Vspec 2 ( $ 57480 ) T3 tires, got the pole and finished 1st 5 seconds ahead of the Castrol Supra.
The corvette and viper are pitting after 3 or 4 laps !!.
So, you don't need a super car to beat them at the amateur level ( this is another story at the pro level )
You can do it
I try to race with a car that +- matches the competition but that's my point of view. I'll never criticise someone who enters the beginners sunday cup races with a 787B, that's their own business.
Do you want to race or win ? that's the question.

Well yeah. If you want it even easier.

Grab the BNR34 GT-R V-Spec II as well as the T3 tires. Get it to a decent amount of horsepower etc. and get into the Super Speedway endurance. Try go for that as many times as needed for the Polyphony 001.

That's how I did it.

If your looking to build an affordable, fast car........you should look at the RX-7. It was my second car and I used it till it had about 1100 miles on it. Basically enough money "$1 million" to buy the Vertigo, which was my third car and remained my third car for like the next 1400 miles or so. You can get over 600HP out of the RX-7. It handles pretty good once you get a little use to it. Overall good car and you should be able to beat the cars your talking about. Good Luck. Hope this helped.

Beautiful Car........One of my favorites.......Almost impossible to get it to really perform though. Yeah, I have one......modified.......pushing about 1100HP. Even before any mods, you still can't really drive the car.

787B or Oreca Viper will do, they both have wicked handeling and they're fast as hell!
