OK guys!
I have been asked by a couple of people "How the hell do I get an image/photo of my screen into a post?"
So instead of answering multiple times the same-ish question. I thought that I would simply make a thread so that all you have to do is look it up and there is the answer.

So here is how you do it!

Firstly let me tell you that there are two main way of doing this:
1: To post it as a full image directly into the post.
2: To attach the image for people to click on, to load on demand.

The first is slightly more complicated, but doesn't have as many limitations, the second requires the image to be smaller than 100Kb in size.

Method 1

1: Take the photo and transfer to your PC's pictures folder. (Optionally you could re-size the image to around 800x600 with a photo-editing package, which will reduce load times for those of us without ADSL)
2: Click on the 'Post reply' button as normal to start a post.
3: Write your post, and decide where you want the image to be.
4: Scroll down the screen until you see the 'Upload your images to ImageShack' bit.

5: Click the 'Browse' button (circled red), and find the image on your PC, click OK.
6: Click the 'Host it' button (circled blue) and a new window/tab will open from ImageShack.
7: Once the window has loaded, scroll down to the section that is labeled 'Direct link to image' (Small red circle)

8: Right-click on the link (large red circle) and then left-click on COPY.
9: Go back to the window/tab on which you are creating the new post.
10: Make sure that the curser line is where you want the picture to appear.
11: Click on the little picture frame icon above the main text entry window (circled below)

12: In the white text entry bar, RIGHT-CLICK & PASTE, then hit OK.

The direct link to the image is now included in your post enclosed in IMG & /IMG tags!

Click the 'Preview Post' button to see if it has worked, and adjust the postition of the pic if needed with the formatting buttons (left/center/right justification etc) as normal

Method 2

1: Take image, get it to PC, open it with Paintshop Pro/Adobe/Photoshop and then you will have to resize it to be smaller in size than 100Kb (not easy if you want to preserve the image quality)
2: Write your post
3: Click the 'Manage Attachments' button (circled purple in first pic above)
4: Click the top browse button, and find your pic.
5: Click open.
6: Click upload.

7: finish your post, and click submit as normal.

The pic will appear in your post in a section labeled appropriately enough 'File Attachments' as a thumbnail and anyone needing to see it will have to click on it to load the pic from ImageShack.

I hope this helps anyone who needs/wants to post a picture, especially those who are required to as proof of times.

Could you say that again please? Actually it's very well spelled out, thanks Neil. I struggle everytime I upload pics...I'm not from the computer generation, but we did have telegraph.

Hey Tyre King thanks for breaking this down. Lots of guys here aren't computer nerds and need help with things like this. From time to time even I have problems working with certain computer programs and detailed breakdowns like this help alot. +REP

+REP :sly:👍

Also, can someone please sticky this post and maybe copy it to some of the other appropiate Forums? ;)

 Thanks guys!

First time I have had a post that according the the 'rep-meter' is, and I quote "Somewhat Positive"

That's like your wife asking if her butt looks big in those new jeans, and you reply " Darling your butt looks big in everything, but I like it that way. "

Still a compliment, but it gets you a slap anyway!:D
