I searched the forum and found no answer to my question....As I would like to try the new Red Bull Challenges, I need to get past this roadblock. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

1) Does tire choice change the "pace" of the car?
2) Do you need to win all the races?

I don't know if the tires are imposed by the game but just take the better available (race soft if possible), I think it is selected by default (which is not the case for the Red Bull 2014 last championship).

You don't need to win all races to pass to the next level, you just have to finished 3rd of the championship.

This competition is not so hard, the main point is that you are driving a very light car, so you can afford to brake late and not to much (compared to other cars) because the car can really pass fast in the turns.

The cars handle a lot better than regular ones, so easy on the steering. It can enter turns a lot faster, brake later (if at all) and stick to the tarmac like epoxy. It's just that everything happens very fast and makes for a hairy ride sometimes. These are short races so Racing Soft should be the easiest tire choice. Of course Racing Hard are more than enough...
