How to not spin out during Go-Karts?

Just be patient. (I know, it's hard) If you rush it you will spin out really easy. It took me a couple times to get passed the first race that level.

Just, don't brake when you enter a curve. The kart will slow down as you turn unless you were going full speed onto a hairpin! Also, don't go on the edges of the track because it will throw-off the kart and don't accelerate too much exiting. Hope this helps, I actualy found out how an hour ago when I was payig with a friend! :-)

I got gold i both the intermediate ones today. One the first race you can go flat out for nearly the whole track except for the loop at the top where you have to lift off.

Like the others said only use the brakes lightley and no sudden steering changes.

As viejaloca alluded, the carts are so light that the rumble strips that you can typically take with car will destroy the cart causing you to spin. Getting on the gas too hard out of a corner will cause you to spin. Hitting the brakes too hard going into a corner will cause you to spin. Simply put, driving the carts is an exercise in smooth throttle and brake control.

Yeah, it's a little embarrassing, but I was expecting karts to handle like they do in Mario Kart.

I was also spinning out early(a shocker!). Couple of adjustments I made are that I started slowing down, prior to turning into the corner. Then try to coast, applying the gas only as needed. Once you get the hang of it, the handling is sort of fun. 👍

P.S. OMG, TB, congrats on becoming a Super Moderator. 👍 I always liked you. Omnis, too.

The game specifically tells you not to brake while cornering with a kart, instead you have to brake approaching the corner, then gently accelerate around the bend. It's the acceleration that gives the wheels grip on the turns.

I say just hit the gas on the big tracks (Eiffel) but for Tokyo lightly break before then just let the friction slow you down. Then gently turn ad if you need to slow down tap the breaks as if there was ABS

i got gold on all the carting specials, and I have to say it`s all about trying to break before the corner, turn, and then regulate the throttle until you are close to finishing the corner...

Then flat out with the gas paddle ofcourse :)

its tough on a DS3, you have to be so gentle. Lost count of the times I was in the lead with one lap to go, then turned a tiny bit too much and.....gone. Finally done it now though

Must be because of the DS3. I have a g27 and beat it everytime by at least 15 seconds ... Intermidiate... I could beat them by more but I don't push it. I found the carts easier to handle than the cars

There are only brakes in the rear of a kart irl. So if you brake while turning, it's the equivalent to pulling the ebrake in a real life car w/o pedal braking. You only apply the brakes before making a turn or if you are purposefully trying to throw out your rear, in which case, you just hit the brake briefly to tail out. In kart racing, it's all about 'throwing' the kart around as moumentum is far more important than normal auto-crossing.

I presume its just like a real kart...brakes are there just for the case...dont use them in every corner, and be sure to brake while you accelerate, dont ever leave the foot from the gas...

this may sound stupid but i say try not to brake at all, the deceleration of the karts seems to be enough for me to take the corners without breaking, obviously there are a couple of corners you have no choice but to break.

i thought the kart races were very easy tbh, but i was using the G27 and you have much more control than the DS3

This. Left-foot braking is a must with real-world Karts.

That's basically what I do, you can pretty much just scrub off some speed by lightening your right foot and turn in hard, the kart will hold on as long as you are giving it some gas. Easiest races so far in the game, although majorly fun.

Its SOOO easy, i cant believe it.. All you do is not hold X while you turn, you can go at a high speed just dont hold X while turning.. you can brake too but never hold X while braking or accelerating.

-Steer only very lightly (use the analogue stick if using a controller),
- do not go off the track
- If you have been off the accelerator dont slam down the throttle to exit the corner if your still turning,
- Like-wise with the brakes do not brake while cornering.
- Most of the time you should be able to full throttle every corner and not have to brake prior. Although some corners are too sharp to steer enough without spinning out.

I barely used the brakes except for the last race some. I just kept the throttle moving. If you let up a little off the gas, the kart will slow down a lot faster than a car. When I go into a corner, i just let up off of the gas a little, not all the way, and flew past most of the AI on the turns.

EDIT: Didn't read the above posts that basically say the same thing. Sorry.

Just don't use your brakes unless your going to hit the grass. Come off the throttle as you head into the corner then power down on the way out. For steering I find easier to keep tapping the direction button instead of holding it down.

I found tapping x quickly while tapping left or right quickly at corners works a treat, only brake for the tightest of bends. Got golds straight away doing that.
