yeah I could see some 17yr. old idiot see this clip and then immediately go try it behind my car and take out my bumper.

Hmm....That looks like a fun little thing to do when you want to parallel park in the rain...

Meh, I wonder if that would work on dry asphalt.
Atleast as effectiv as on wet ashpalt.
Ugly car BTW! :yuck:

Well there is only one way to fund out and yes that is one hell of an ugly car....

That's a good argument against RWD.
You think it's not possible to do with RWD?

My dad told me a strategy for parking his Avanti in one of those angled spaces, while coming in from the wrong direction.

Too many times I see people who are not coming from the correct direction, try to pull into an angled spot; thus not getting aligned in the space and screwing up other cars in the row.

When I see an open space that's angled to favor the opposite direction, I drive past it and back my car in. This keeps my car aligned with the parking spot and allows everyone else in the row to remain unaffected.

My dad said that there's a way to do it in a car such as the Avanti. You're supposed to drive next to the empty spot, put the front fender in line with the parking space, hold the brake, turn the wheel toward the space and give the car gas. The twin-traction (Studebaker's term for a positraction unit) rear end pivots the car in your desired direction. When you get the correct angle, just pull into the space.

I'm sure that method would work with other RWD cars that have some kind of positraction rear end.

That could work with a RWD car on a snowy, banked residential road...angle the nose in, goose the throttle, the tail slides in towards the curb...
