How to progress on from here

Hi, I'm a D to C driver and since I finished Menu Book 40 I haven't bothered to unlock the rest. All that's left are roulette tickets with the engine tickets being the most unnecessary ones, cause all you get is an un-tuned motor for a car you probably don't possess.
Most of the time I'm racing in Dailies or lobbies. So, is there anything more worth accomplishing in terms of unlocking cars, or that's it?

Yes, you need to unlock all 50 for the full abilities of the game....

What are the engine tickets actually good for? Are those the stock engines you can buy in the tuning shop, or engine swaps?

They’re swaps, but I think they can be put in the original car if you want to. There's a thread pinned to the top of the GT7 forum that lists all the engines and cars they go into.

Why pay when you have it free via a ticket, some engine swaps cost high credits...
