How to prolong the prologue

Didn't we have to imagine when it was on PS1? Guessing exactly where the turn in point should thanks to ceefax graphics (alright, slightly over exaggerated!). Surely we shouldn't have to be imagining on PS3 ;)

I'm wishing my life away for the next update - I find I get bored very quickly of car games (even though i'm a petrol head) - I'd even pay for an update.

At the end of the day, PS3 isn't a purpose built simulator, so you will always have to imagine.

If you have the cash and dont want to imagine at all, then I suggest you buy a real simulator for xxx million.

Also, the PS3 is not an easy machine to harness all the power from it. Launch PS3 games used the PPU (Power Processing Unit) to do all the hard work and the SPU's (Synergistic Processing Units) didn't do anything, where as Sony intended for the SPU's to do all the hard work, and the PPU should only "overlook" the SPU's.

Only in more recent titles have developers started to do that. So PS3 as a whole still has a long way to go. The only good thing is that its meant to be an easier learning curve than developing for PS2.

Sure a new track would be nice, but the only thing needed to really hold us over until full GT5 is private rooms. When (if?) we get them in GT5P, running series and tourneys for GTP will more than keep us occupied. I could even argue that private rooms are way more necessary than damage.

The update atleast allows me to communicate with friends and arrange races a little better without quiting the game. Also, on the fly updating my comment to let people know where i am racing (when I remember to do it)helps alot.

I'd have to agree with that. I'm betting that once damage is implemented (with the option of turning it off), most would have it off for online racing.

Not to flog this one to death, BUT...

most other console/computer games are "imaginative" in the sense that they create an imaginary world (Elder Scrolls, Halo, Haze etc.), or place you as an imaginary character in a "real" world (Uncharted, MofH, GTAuto etc.).

Driving sims, on the other hand, try & create the sense of being a real driver in a fully, accurately, simulated "real" world.

GT5P has done a great job (relatively speaking) of creating realistic physics, realistic graphics & (with improving online), realistic racing. However, the number (& quality) of the tracks is disappointing & I'm not enthusiastic about having to be "imaginative" about "prolonging" the experience indefinitely.

I'd rather have some new real (imaginary) tracks soon... 👍

In case you've forgotten, this is only the prologue.
