I recently tried to record something on my CRT TV using my phone camera (3.2 MP Nokia E71) but there are some black lines that blinds the whole screen of the TV in the camera.

Does anyone knows how to avoid that since I have seen so many people record their CRT TV with their camera but none of the black lines presist.

For example:

If you notice, there are 2 or 3 horizontal black lines going down across the screen but I am experiencing worse than that now.

Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

The lines show up because the refresh rate of the screen doesn't match the frame rate of the camera. If I remember correctly, a CRT's refresh rate is 60Hz and it looks like your phone runs at 22fps (assuming you used 640x480). Your options would be to use 320x240 at 30fps, use a different camera, get an LCD TV or use some form of video capture device.

Thanks for the immediate reply mate. Yes normal CRT TV refresh rate is indeed 60Hz and my phone have a QVGA @ 15FPS. My other camera also managed to capture those black lines and I'm definitely out of options like all you have stated up there.

I have an LCD TV but it's stucked up onto the wall and the white, yellow and red wires port are all at the back of the TV.

Thanks again for the reply :)

Capture card

Yeah the next possible way is to use the capture card but then I need to have a VCR which I don't have one :(

Anyway I'm going to the nearest game shop later this evening and I'll try to ask for some more alternative way. Thanks for the replies guys :)

Capture cards don't record onto a VCR tape, they go on your hard drive.

I don't know why is this guy connecting his X360 to the VCR then capture card later to his computer (he was using Dazzle)...

Anyway, this is confusing. There are instruction says I need a splitter and some say no splitter. I'll go to the game shop and try asking them the best solution...

Thanks!

I don't know who you're talking about but he's a knob.

A capture card comes with the RCA plugs which you just plug your PS1/2/3 into (or anything) press record and play it on your computer screen. Get a half decent PCI TV Tuner and it should come with one.

You don't need a splitter, unless you want to console to be connected to two things at once, which I don't see why you would unless your TV and PC were very close to each other and you didn't want to swap RCA plugs between the Capture Card and the TV inputs.

The more I watch the setup, the more I understands it.

I can still record even without the splitter because the image will still come up in my computer screen and record it (that is if I use Dazzle Capture Card which also I think is the same to other brands). I only need splitters if I want them to be on both, TV and on my computer in which some say is unecessary unless you want to play and record in comfort.

What comes to my mind now is the price of this thing and its availability here. If it costs around MYR50 then I'll get it in no time.

I use the dazzle to. have a 1982 color console in the basement. Works fine. Connects from the PS2 with the red/yellow/white into dazzle then into my computer. Comes with software and everything. You can decide on the quality of video. Then just upload it to Youtube. Pretty simple.

Dazzle I have: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?rlz=1T4ADRA_enUS374US375&q=dazzle+dvd+recorder&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=5635815577834401159&ei=Zve3TKbfDIqqngeV_IC4DQ&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=3&ved=0CDcQ8wIwAg

And my most recent TT video. Best quality. Longest upload time to Youtube. About an hour.

Get the game too. You'll enjoy it.
