Thats basically my question^, every time i try to save pictures to my SanDisk 258MB USB drive, a error message pops up like half way through and tells me i cant save or something along that line. Thanks in advance.

ok,
i know there's another thread about this, but i've seen the question asked many times in the last few hours, so here's what I know works. If someone else has tried something, post it up and i will make this list larger as it goes:

Confirmed working hardware:
- Sony Pocket Bit USB memory
- Sony Micro Vault
- SanDisk Cruzer Micro USB Flash Drive
- Media Gear 7-in-1 USB 2.0 memory card reader w/ PQI 256mb Hi-Speed Compact Flash

Unconfirmed working hardware:

Incompatible hardware:
- SanDisk Cruzer Mini USB Flash Drive (can someone else reconfirm this?)

Additional info:
Photos saved to Sony Memory Card is compressed down to approximately 100kb, resulting in minor artifacting when displayed on a computer monitor. Photos saved to USB storage is approximately 250-300kb.

In the mail now. Hope it works. Didn't bother rushing it, as I won't really need it until GT4 is released stateside anyhow. /shrug

Sorry i forgot to search "SanDisk" before i posted. I got a Cruzer Mini, i guess i can confirm that the Mini does not work. Now i have to buy another USB drive just for this game =P. Thanks for the help =D

Get a AR MaxDrive thinger... will also let you back up all your PS2 game data and stuff, and functions as a flash drive, all bit it small at 16megs. Still, its handy to say the least.

I also have a 256 Meg Cruzer Mini, so this is kinda annoying, but I can live.

not exactly, if you use 1280x1024 (like me) or more :D. Well, PS will be on work :D

Anyone know if PNYs will work? I have a Cruzar Mini and a PNY, so I'm hoping that the PNY will work. Seems kind of stupid how it only supports 3 or 4 models, as they all use the same technology. Personally, I don't want to go buy one just to use for this, so if the PNY don't work, looks like I'm SOL.

Actually 1280x960 is the proper 4:3 aspect ratio! 1280x1024 is 5:4 and looks too narrow unless you have a TFT display which actually has 1280x1024 pixels. I have no idea why 1280x1024 exists anyway, I'd be thankful for every hint. 👍

I don't know, but I use it and it's ok. The difference is not that obvious and I like bigger desktop. As for me - maybe I'm just weird - 1280x960 looks too wide :D

Although I've never heard of 1400x1050, it's 4:3 as well. What I don't understand is where 1280x1024 comes from. All screens, no matter if they're a CRT, a TFT or whatever, have always been 4:3. All TFTs are 4:3, except of this one size being 5:4, which only causes problems in my eyes: everything you see has either black stripes at the sides cause it is 4:3, or it is streched and looks strange.

Everything is nice and perfect in the 4:3 world, and then one single 5:4 screen size comes along and shuffles it all. 👎 :grumpy:

I am on a 1280x768 wide screen LCD monitor, heh !

The 1280x960 photos are perfect to use as my wallpaper, and indeed I am using one of those that I have taken myself. :)

Well, there are widescreen panels as well, but I guess the 5:4 panel should belong to the 4:3 world. And having a 1280x960 picture on a 1280x768 screen means that you have one of these problems:

- black stripes at the sides of the screen
- the picture is cut off at the top and / or bottom end
- the picture is streched making the car look strange

And what I still don't know is what TFT manufacturers thought when producing a 5:4 panel, although all the other sizes are 4:3.

Cheers,

I cut them to size, and I left enough rooms for the purpose of wallpaper when I take the photos.

Unfortunately you only have this opportunity when you make pictures by yourself, most of the available pictures will have one of the problems I stated.

So you cant use whatever USB drive you want to, right ?

So far these is the only confirmed ones ?
- Sony Pocket Bit USB memory
- Sony Micro Vault
- SanDisk Cruzer Micro USB Flash Drive
- Media Gear 7-in-1 USB 2.0 memory card reader w/ PQI 256mb Hi-Speed Compact Flash

little confused as usual :)

When I get GT4 and get it running (it might actually have been delivered to my neighbour just now, but it will take a while before I have it running anyway), then I will test if it works with the PSP. :D

2 more days - I'm just kinda curious if it'll show up in my PS2's browser. I have the latest ATV Offroad Fury 2 online pack, with an HDD and Network Adapter. Feh. Wish I wasn't so broke - I'd seek out and import GT4 and the stuff I need to play it. I've been meaning to get an NTSC/J console, anyway. I'm an import freak and the swap disc/lid thing is getting anoying. Ah well, maybe tax time.
