When I made my Japanese account, I entered a load of A's for everything on the address page and it worked.

I entered just the 1 of the 1st characters in the very top left corner.
For example if it was the same layout as the English keyboard, I would have chosen Q if it only shown letters.

I'd imagine you wouldn't. It's coming from the Japanese PlayStation Store so the account is all you need.

Yes.
Each region of a certain game has a slightly different Title ID. The PS Store matches the DLC to the region of the account. Since the DLC will be downloaded for a Japanese Title ID, you therefore will need a Japanese copy of the game.
