How to survive the start??

As the tittle says how do you survive the start as I got killed and sliced so many times by over eager drivers directly after the start of the race that I am last with a full damaged car after the first corner.

How to start a race and survive?
 
Just hang back and let the carnage happen ahead. Then carefully pick your way through the ghosts and damaged cars watching out for recoverers trying to take you out as you go pass
 
Go for a small, but agile car. That way you can squeeze through most of the havoc ahead. Also, if you don't start last, the small size of your car makes you more difficult to hit.
 
Yeah, patience rules here. Let them all battle it out at the front of the grid and then pick off any stragglers but as ADEUK states: Beware the cars recovering because unlike Bobs gentlemans rule where he will wait to be passed before pulling out, not everyone online shares this moral.

Try to sort those over-eagerly "drivers" out of the room ;)
 
Depends on grid position and track. If I'm in the middle or back of the field, I'll usually just hang back and take a safe line where I know I wont get hit. People makes mistakes so often online, I'm usually back to my starting position or higher within a few corners (assuming I don't make a mistake :D).

If I'm at the front, I usually go for it, but it really depends on which track.
 
Pateince until the uber exuberant; or less talented drivers, mess up; then gain positions :).

Unless you are racing in an organized 'league'; and you know each drivers ablilities. We have door to door clean racing in the Concours Club 👍
