So I want switch to cockpit view on a car like lets say the Honda civic what button do I press. If I do it with a controller and then turn the ps3 off and switch to wheel it not in cockpit view anymore? can someone help me?

You can map all the functions you need to buttons on your wheel in the options menu. There is a row with button configurations for a variety of different wheels.
In addition, it's generally best to use your DS3 as controller 1 and the wheel as controller 2. That way you can use both(except the DS3 won't steer).
What wheel are you using?? On a G27, maybe G25 also, you press the second (circle) red button from the left, on the shifter. That's the default "select" button.
You might want to add more description, there are a lot of wheels out there.
