So a few days ago, I was in a shuffle room, and my game kept freezing up every time the host changed tracks, and I could hear the other guys in the room saying that I was still loading and they couldn't get on the track. I quit the game, started it back up and went back into the room. I asked how they knew how I was froze up they said there is something by each persons name moving when they are loading. I have never seen this on my screen. Is there something I'm missing? Was it in an update? I've had the game since launch and have done every update...

Snap a pic if you can help me.

Theres a Line underneath each persons name that only exists when loading. If everythings loaded, the bar is not visible, if a track is loading, the bar is visible. Those people that still are loading are usually the only one still with this bar under their name. Gimme a sec and Ill snap some pics...

Here we go:

Name showing loading bar:

Name loaded (No loading bar):

Must be the settings on my tv that is keeping me from seeing the loading bar... either that my game is missing this feature.

As far as the game freezing, I'm pretty certain that it's my old 80g fat girl getting ready to take a dump. The first time it froze, when I tried to quit the game, the PS3 beeped a few times and then shut off.

Edit: I swear that loading bar was not there before, but it's there now!

Do the "internet connection test" in the system settings menu of the XMB. If you have NAT type 3, you'll get a lot of loading (and other) problems like this online. Having NAT type 2 or better makes your online experience 100x better.

I have NAT type 2.

I have NAT 3 and wireless and dont have a problem. In some cases, my connection is better than most I play with. They've all got Ethernet and NAT 2....

That's surprising. I had a NAT 3 connection I couldn't fix for the longest time until I discovered that my old ISP's router had a firewall that was blocking incoming connections. Once I got a new router, the difference was like night & day.

That said, a NAT 3 player could probably have a good experience if they're playing with all NAT 2 players... I think the biggest problems occur when there are 2 or more NAT 3 players in the lobby.
