I don't know if this is the right place for this thread, if it's not, feel free to move it.

Okay, here's what you need to do. This is a setup for the route X speed test. You need to fully uppgrade it, and have the following setup (or something like it, I'm away from my PS3 right now.)

40/-25
5/12.6
1/10
1/10
1/1

0/0 cambre and toe.

For the transmission, you need to do the following equasion.

(max power RPM)........(what top speed you want)
------------------- = ------------------------------
(max RPMs)............... (this will be the top speed in the transmission tune)

You need to do the following equasion, just replace the RPMs with the random numbers that I'm putting in. Again, I'm away from my ps3.

After you fill in the equasion, it will look something like this.

6000 ....210
----- = ------
9000 ... (n)

Please note that the end marks in those equasions mean nothing, they are just being used to seperate two numbers, because they were glitching out.

Cross multiplying from this equasion we see that 9000*210=6000n. 9000*210=1,890,000. 1,890,000/6000=315. Using this math, you can calculate the top speed that you need to set on the transmission menu. This will put the max power at whatever speed that you put into the equasion. You may have to do this a few times with different top speeds put into it in order to get the actual top speed, and the car may not be able to make the corners at SSRX. You can mess with the other settings all you want. Maybe aero in the back helps the car reach 300+ (for example, a GT-ONE). Whatever works. If you find a better suspension tune that works almost as well when it comes to top speed but lets you take the corners at SSRX, que me in so that I can take a look at it.

This has been JJSCHMITTY's guide to top speed tuning.

Oh no!!!! Not math!!!! Just kidding...haha. This sounds interesting. I might have to try it out very soon. If it works, thanks for the fun.

I actually turned 13 today, so your argument is henceforth voided.

lol nice.

Is this for route X in the test speed thing or for the actual track? The actual route X track you will be able to get faster speeds, but with this extreme setup will usually cause the front tires to lift and you will not be able to make the turns. That is what I have found at least.

That's amazing...since your username ends in "2000".

2012 - 2000 < 13

Well, it was either 2000 or 1999, and personally, I thought that "JJSCHMITTY2000" sounds better than "JJSCHMITTY1999", and I figured that 2000 was close enough to 1999 that I could just say "2000", henceforth making my name sound better.

Back on topic... is there a dedicated forum for top speed records? I'm buying up all the FWD saloons and trying to get big speeds out of them 💡 Best so far is 185mph unassisted in a Taurus.

I dont get this :(

It's just somewhat simple math. It calculates the speed using the "Top Speed" part of the trannie tune that that should be set at to give the maximum amount op power at that speed.

Also, does anybody know of a better way to tune the suspension? The way I have posted can't even turn.

Most cars used for top speed runs don't turn very well.. In real life and the game I am pretty sure...

As for a better way to tune the suspension? If you want the car to turn well, It would negatively effect the top speed.

And on another note. I don't get this either. Not the OP. That makes perfect sense.

Suspension I guess.

hahaha. Ironically that is exactly what I don't get. But not the kind that determines relative motion to the ground on a vehicle, But the other kind of suspension, and the weird conversation that followed it.

uhhh cheers.

can you make a video of this cause im sooo confused!

I don't know if I need to make a video, it's quite simple really. If the car has no aero (I'm not sure how to fiddle with the suspension), just soften the suspension, and raise and lower the front and back end, respectively. Then, for the transmission, just put your numbers into the equasion OR just tell them to me, and I'll do the math, if you really have no clue. Be sure to include the RPM limit, the max. power RPM, and what speed you want the car to have the most power at.
