It's frustating the very early braking points of AI cars, AI cars always brakes tooooo much in advance !

I'm searching how to worsen my braking, with abs. A solution is to fit ABS 10, RearBrake 0 and FrontBrake 0 but that's not enough to have to brake at the same time than AI cars.

The other solution is using harder tyres, but i want only worsen the braking not the grip in turns and in accelerations...

Any ideas for only worsen braking ?

Wouldn't you just take a different line to get out of their way? Or am I missing your point?

Also, you could just hit them. Computers don't have feelings. Unless they are the guys from Tron. Those guys can be prick-ly pears.

I'd try to match the tyres the AI use for the event.

If you know the AI brake early try not to follow them directly from behind.

You could... put loads of tyre camber in the set up, as the tyre isn't flat to the track your ability to slow down (should) be reduced - however these cambered tyres should mean you corner with greater potential for speed.

Another Idea would be use ABS=0 and set the Brake Bias to 3/2 and when you brake - be gentle, smooth don't just stomp on the brakes.

It takes some practice - and at first your braking performance will be much worse than with ABS=1 or above.

It will be harder at first, but it should provide a dip in your performance in the brake zones.

Brake Bias 3/2 means the fronts should lock up first - so you will lock up and go in a straight line (Understeer) if you put too much brakes... you will want to alter these numbers to the car and what you enjoy.

Try to be smooth, and try not to lock up into every corner. When you lock up the tyres will overheat and so you won't slow down as well into a corner as well.

Good Fortune

In most races, the AI are notoriously slow into and thru most corners.

There are three ways to make the AI more competitive:

1) Downgrade your own tires
2) Use a car with a lower PP than what the AI uses
3) Use ABS of 0 to make your braking distances longer.

You may need to employ all three methods to make some races against the AI competitive.

Good luck,

That sounds about right!

Even downgrading PP and tyres you can brake after them... but thank you anyway 👍

Well if thats to easy try a Civic vs a Camaro, Stock! That's a challenge. Touring Car vs. GT1, GT1 vs. LMP. KEEP your cars stock everyone always say they suck stock. Just some ideas.

The objective is to get more fun and hard races against the AI, it's too easy to overtake them at braking.

I guess you could also try adding 200kg's of ballast to your cars, and push the ballast all the way to the front and make your cars understeering pigs!:yuck:

Or if its a MR car with a tendency to oversteer, push the ballast to the rear and you will have to be very gentle under braking going into most corners, if you don't want to spin-out.

Good luck!

I see your ideas but it's about tight races ... like real life, in the same class... the pleasure of making later and later braking in paralelle with a competitor in a clean race... i hope Mr Yamauchi could fix that (AI cars braking later, as far as we can do it)... i think it's not that difficult.

Here's some advice...."Drive" with the A.I, not race! If you took your time and drove with them, you wouldn't have this problem. Use them as traffic! It keeps it a bit entertaining. Don't slam on brakes, gradually press it (like you would in a car), 75-80% should do it!

Another solution would be to get online! Everyone online would use late braking techniques that would match your style! 👍

If you want challenge like that, really you need to go online.
The ways to be more evenly matched with the rather dim AI have already been listed, if that's not enough for you the only way you'll get tight and exhillerating races is playing online

Do the ABS 0 suggestion first then see if you're still able to outbrake them. Then nerf your tires and add ballast if that's still the case. Like has been said, they aren't going to race you hard. Basically they're moving chicanes. The Real Driving Simulator not The Real Racing Simulator.

It depends on what event you're doing too. A 5 lap seasonal may demand a tuned car to blast through the field quickly. Running an Arcade or one make practice for more laps I just use all stock cars with ballast.

Testing with Calsonic Nissan GT500 with SportHard instead of RacingHard in arcade mode* abs1 and no ballast addition, in SPA and Monza and i had some challenging and good races :) That car sounds ****ing racing in interior view !

Thank you all for your help and your ideas!

*because of 15 different opponents instead of 7 of the same model in carrier mode practice
