Actually, there are. You have to watch two videos before you're able to join Sport Mode, and although I agree they're close to useless, one of them explicitly says waving in a straight line is bad.

Just because someone in F1 'got away with it' doesn't mean it's right. You 'waved' more than once, so by your own admission it was not the right thing to do - and, as quoted above, the GT Sport intro rules say waving in a straight line is bad...

I don't think it really matters whether you are pulling away from the car behind or not, you asked whether he was right to call you out on something unsporting, which he was. Would have impacted the outcome? Probably not.

I would not say that you did not deserve the win, but the only way to show you are faster is to win 100% clean.

As far as your take on breaking the draft being a "dirty" move is bump drafting a dirty move because the lead car gets an SR down for every bump? When I race if I attempt to break the draft I only do it if there is a car tucked up behind me, I will then move to the opposite side of the track and stay there unless I need to move back for the next corner. I rarely bother doing this because me and the car following have a better chance of gapping the others behind or catching cars that may be in front of us. I typically only do it on the last lap for a win.

Bump drafting is only dirty because it gives SR- (PD should fix that and remove it). I didn't start bumping the weaver but maybe I should. You will never see someone weaving if you watch/ go to a race. I always do one move (going toward the inside) and that's it. When I have the feeling the guy behind me is dirty i don't risk it and I let him pass these days because I need my SR to go up.

Unless you're racing at the top of the DR lader, most players mess up post overtake; if you let them pass you at the end of the straight on the inside, they arrive to fast on an unusual line, and they end up sliding or too slow. You pass them at the exit if they are clean.

That being said these days I have not seen more than one player per race that is clean so...

I had a look from the suggested time mark.
And yep, in my opinion you were weaving from 15:25 to about 15:35, and yep, in my opinion that is "unsportsmanlike".
From that point on it all seemed fine to me.

That said, it's not the first time I've seen someone do this, and it won't be the last.
So I wouldn't have been having a go at you in the post race chat.
I would have quickly gotten over that little 'incident' and instead would have congratulated you on the win, and for holding it together under some fairly high and consistent pressure. 👍
