How would you tune a 4WD to make it drift?

Ok so heres my overkill way of making a 4WD drift. Only %10 drive to front wheels,no rearwing downforce, front brakes set to 1 rear brakes set to max, dump the suspension to lowest possible, rear wheels set to 10 degrees, harden up all spring rates and sway bars, sim tires, max HP. Yep really overkill but should help ya.

Don't really need any settings. With the proper amount of skill, anything and everything can be drifted stock.
Yeah , you just love stock cars? Hopefully on gt4 you will add tad bit more power? eh?

Stiff stabilizers?.... Front brakes set to 1?..... 10 degree camber in the rear?..... Max hp on sims?..... 10% VCD? (you might as well be drifting a FR)....

Oh dear Lord..... I can't find a single thing, that you have done correctly.....

Send me a PM imediately... This needs to be remedied....

This goes for anyone else looking to learn how to drift AWD's..... It's rediculously simple (especially if you don't use counterproductive settings, and technique.)....

sims and LOTS of power a big feint motion and tap on the brake then some gas. Then all you have to worry about is not spinning out

:ouch: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: whats up with this power option, u don't need that much power to drift a AWD, like around 300-400 fine

My car understeers a lot.

That is the nature of AWD's... However, it allows you to get quite a lot of angle, without countersteer.... You just have to use the foot brake, or e-brake, to adjust the angle... or throw the car into the turn more, to compensate for the understeer...

Of course the right settings help....

What settings are you using?...

Those settings look pretty good actually.... I would change the brake balance, but that's more preference...

As for the parts.... That's just fine... Not too much HP..... Work on your technique, and you will be just fine, me thinks.... If you need more help with technique, send me a PM.....

What's a PM? And what can I set the Brake Balance controller to?

And should I lower down the HP a bit by removing a part?

Private Message

I use a rear biased brake balance (13,24), but once again, that's really a preference....

The HP is just fine....

Good because I would hate to conform to what you perceive as the "CORRECT" way to make a 4WD Drift. :)

Hmmm...... Interesting response......

If you want to continue using counterproductive techniques and settings, go ahead.....

I am currently in love with the tommy kakiriarkakriarka zzII. With 900hp+ and AWD, it's awesome. I'm using a setup off of gtvault.com. It's a road setup that gets me some real fast times. Though through some of the corners it drifts while still gaining speed. And if I want to, I just tap the ebrake going into the corner and it does a very nice controlled drift. I have found that I can't drift well with drift setups for AWD cars found on the net. You may be like me as well. They just seem to require a very unique driving style that takes a long time to develop, and also the cars can't be driven very quickly with most of the setups. Try the zz2 with T8s and try to use a setup off of gtvault. It's a great car, I can drive it quicker than my 686m, and the replays are amazing.

Actually everyone is use to different settings, so try to make your own that you like....I don't like using ppls settings, because I want my own unique settings

That is a good philosophy.... However, trying out different peoples settings, gives you a better idea, of what works, and what doesn't, when you are first learning..... Otherwise you are just flying blind, with no direction.....
