Great racing last Thursday everybody. A lot of fun once again.
I tested 5 cars for next month. Going to be hard to make a decision. The skyline and the 300zx handle sweet even stock. The Lamborghini is a rocket. The rufs, well their rufs. Hard to handle. I would drift to out of control in almost every turn unless I slowed to a SNAIL's pace.
Can't wait to see the pics jay. Hope you'll have time today. See you guys soon.

I think I'll test that Countach today. My choices are a Miata (Handling), a Skyline R30 (In Between), and the BTR (Pooooowwwweeeerrrrr). I managed to keep it facing the right way testing on the Top Gear track on Sport Hards. Should be a lot easier on sticky tires with the chassis reinforcement and some suspension adjustments.

Hello Racers! Settle in, this is going to be a sizable post!
Lets start with Thursday Nights Event! It was loads of fun, but the fun began before the first race officially started. Where to begin, well, in talking about Decembers 1980's Track Days, RacingOtaku86 mentioned he may be using the Ford RS200. In the ongoing YaRRRRRis joke, we started comparing the Yaris to a Ford RS200. He then challenged me to find a Group B Yaris Rally Car. So RacingOtaku, I present you with this:
I don't know if it's "Group B" or not, but it is a Yaris, on Dirt, and covered in Rally-esque decals.
Also in discussions about Decembers Series, I presented the idea of doing a series where you must choose a car from the year of your birth, and we found out just how young some of our racers are. For instance, I found some footage of Phisher practicing:
I'm kidding, obviously, but I think that it's not too far off!
OK, so on to the races! The competition was fierce with multiple battles for just about every position, and also a 4 car pile up somewhere in Race 3! I was so excited to get through the pile up and gain a few positions that I careened right into the Chicane wall, loosing all of the positions I had just gained with a penalty and engine damage. Good times! Here are just a few photos of the event!
I could have taken 100 photos, so much close quarter racing, multi car battles, and high speed action!
After taking the photos, I was walking around the pits, and I found this gem, just sitting there, keys in the ignition. I took it for a "little spin".

I still have not decided, but I definitely have a favorite of the group. You are all free to try them if you want, shared on my jaydoc_and_meech profile.
Finally, I'm really getting excite for GT6. If anyone has an idea that you'd like to see for a series, please let me know. I have a few brewing, including a low PP VW Beetle Event, a Rally Themed Event, and events with a certain price range (budget street car) races.
Also, I have a special event lined up, where I'll be choosing a track that will always be the same, and a car that will always be the same. And each week, only one racer (when they choose to) can do 1 lap of the track while we all watch, and get their lap time forever posted in the listings. Think Top Gear Star in a Reasonably Priced Car, only no Top Gear Track, no Stars, and the car may not be so reasonably priced...
Thanks for sticking with me racers! I think getting this series started pre GT6 was the thing to do, bring us all back together and racing before the big day!

Well, I've no ideas for a theme, I filled the C12 with sand, and I think the Countach might be your best bet. I know the RX-7 from the dealer can be quite quick as well though. Opinion on the BTR?
I'd rather not drive cars from my birth year. '95 wasn't that great of a year for cars. xD

I took your ride for a test drive bionic. It's powerful but to much for me to handle on exits. Beyond my skill level. Never could get a clean lap at deep forest or Monza unless I slowed down. Maybe rolling all the way thru the turns would have help. Much respect for you if you choose that car.
Jay what about a trucks theme? Maybe on super speedways. We've never raced trucks. Ever. That would be fun
Going to test the rx7 in the morning. I'll pm you my choice Thursday morning. Out of all I've tested the lambo is the fastest, all tracks.

@Socket68 : Definitely thinking about a trucks theme, that will be within the next 4 months or so! And one of the choices you mentioned, the 300ZX, those are sweet, I can't believe I never bought one in game yet, I may have to go look!
@BionicDerp : I liked the CTR, but like Randy said, I also do not possess the skill required to make a good lap. If the trick was to cause smoke, that would be one of my top picks though!
@johnsom : I tried and it still says I can't send you a pm. I've not tried deleting any of mine yet, but there's got to be a way to delete many fast if that's what you're looking to do. I don't think I've deleted a PM since going premium.
And remember racers, these are no points events. Your car does not have to be the fastest, and technically, you don't have to finish first. Choose a car for the looks, the sound, the uniqueness, or just because you never got to use it. I've not even put racing exhaust on my cars yet in this series, I think they all sound the same. My vette had stock exhaust and fixed height springs. I try to "tune" my cars sometimes to what I know my abilities would be in real life. Just saying, don't get hung up on being first, there are plenty of races out there for that!

Wow... Looks like a rallycross Yaris. I stand corrected...
As for my car, I still might go with the RS200, but now a 1986 Celica 2000GT-FOUR (ST165) has snuck in to my heart. That car has pretty decent handing, but the downside is the engine a little lacking in pow-ah. So, do I fully tune it or not... Hmm...

I tried the 300ZX '89, and it has decent handling. Managed a 1:17.xxx, but in the BTR, I managed a 1:16:xxx. I haven't tried the Countach yet, but it'll probably be faster. But I like a challenge, so I'll probably pick a slower car.

I tested+tuned my cars on the Top Gear track to get general handling. My tuned Countach does about 1 12's, and my BTR did 1:10. Maybe I just suck at tuning, but if you're going to use the BTR, I can get you my tuning setup for it.

I was using Deep Forest because that is our first track
And @Ph1sher, I only have one, but I'll try and find another. I could put mine on borrow and you could find your setup for it, and transfer it to the one you get.

But you know... I don't have to go with the RS200 or the Celica... There are two cars (which really is just one, but minor details) that I could choose that will make me smile on the inside... They're not the fastest, but frankly scarlet, I don't give a lamb. I'll test them out soon, and then you'll know my choice...
