I love how the guidelines make for a race between cars you'd never normally compete against. I mean You've got everything from the sporty Honda Integra to my not-so-sporty Nissan March. :P

I can't wait to see the results of this!

This is exactly what I was going for, a diverse group of cars that have equal PP and each one is unique!

See you all tonight!

:sly:👍

Thanks everyone for coming out tonight! And thanks Phisher for taking over when I got booted, I had to completely shut down and restart!

No problem! Lots of fun tonight! See you guys next Thursday!

Hello again! This is the week it all begins! This Thursday, beginning at 8pm EST, we will have our Official, Inaugural, Spectacular (too much?) Test and Tune. What is the purpose of the Test and Tune, you may ask. The Test and Tune Session is a chance for everyone to bring out their final pick for the September Japanese 1990's FF Challenge, test it against the other competitors, and make any needed adjustments (ie. "Test and Tune"). Also, all participants who attend are given 15 points towards the series standings.

Hope to see you there! It's not too late to join either, please PM me if you have any questions.

Also, a heads up, I made a few tweaks to the "Vehicle Regulations" Bullet in the OP (nothing that will affect what's been chosen) and also the "Point System" Bullet to reflect points given for attending the Test and Tune Session.

Thanks!

Good morning fellas, two days to go. Looking forward to it.
Just so I'm clear, Thursday night will be a points race? And we're running four 15 min races all at Suzuka east? I just hope I can keep everyone within sight:nervous:

Bionic I hope your schedule allows for ya to join up. This is going to be some fun close racing.
You still got plenty of time.

Yes, Thursday will be a points event, to encourage participation in the test and tune, all in attendance will receive 15 points. And yes, this week will be 4x 15 minute races, to allow adjustments in between race sessions. Each session will start based on reverse grid of previous race.

Remember to have your car decided upon, once it enters the track, that's the car you must stick with! :sly:👍

I'm starting to get second thoughts on my car after quickly testing another one. It's probably too late to change it now, so... I'll race with what I chosen, but I just wish I found out sooner. Oh well, at least I have TWO 450 PP FF cars ready anytime (always a positive).

It's not too late, the series is not official until tonight. I'm actually changing mine, I found a car/tune that knocked off at least a second on Suzuka east, so I'm going with that one!

See you all tonight!

I might decide to change to a Mitsubishi FTO GPX '99; I'll have to run some quick tests at Tsukuba, DFR, and CSR5 later on today. Why these courses and not just Suzuka East? Well, I did Suzuka already and beat my quickest CR-X time with it, and by going to these courses it gives me an impression on how the car reacts to the tracks.

Thanks all for coming out tonight!

I knew the racing would be close, but .003 difference for First Place?!? You guys are animals and it's a pleasure to race with you all!

Had a great time last night everybody. A good turn out too.👍
I got all the gravel cleaned out from under my car this morning. Took awhile.
Now on to Tsukuba. Hopefully I can keep it on the track for a full 30 min race next week:dunce:

Racing is good to go. He posted that pre Test and Tune and used that car during the test and tune :sly:👍

Hello All!

Thanks again for all who participated on Thursday Night, it was a blast!

I've taken a few photos and also, started a poll for a Special Award! Based on the cars/color combos/applied parts, GTPlanet members can vote on your vehicle. The car at the end of the month with the most votes gets a prize! Visit Studio jay*doc & Turtle Racing League September '13 to vote. Voting is open to anyone, so feel free to share the link!

As far as the racing, all I can say is WOW. The 2nd race was by far the closest finish I have ever seen, .003. And even though I'm not the best driver, I had fun at the back and got to challenge a few racers from time to time.

As a reminder to those on the DS3, please change your horn button to prevent blasting your horn at the cars in front of you. It may not seem like a big deal, but it can be distracting and people may think it's rude.

Without further a due, photos (not in any specific order)!

Thanks and see you next week!

:guilty: I'll change my horn button tonight.
I started using it on L3 button awile back. I use left stick to steer, so if I heard the horn blasting it meant I had gotten away from smooth steering inputs and was pressing down on the stick, meaning I was back to jerking the car around getting over excited. Which means slow for me.

Believe it or not, that's a very common thing since L3 was the default horn button.

No worries, it's just something that came up before when I was helping in TYRO and wanted to give us all a reminder.

Does that explain why I thought I was being honked at because of my driving? Makes sense.

I've really took a liking to the track for this week(Tsukuba). Short tracks and FF cars seem to go well together. I never drove FF cars much until now but I really like them.
Now if I could just get a handle on my wheel spin on the exits of the slow turns. Going to be a lot of fun this Thursday night.

You need to go into settings and play with LSD Limited slip differential you should be able to set it so the frt wheels dont spin coming out of the slow corners. I have not messed with it that much on frt drive cars but you should be able to play with it a bit and get a good setting so you dont have that problem.

Thanks MBOBB, I'll try that tonight.

If the LSD adjustment doesn't turn out to your liking you can also set Traction Control to effect wheel spin. I got my FTO set at 1 👍 I think front:rear ride height ratio and stiffness also makes a difference as well (front being a little higher). Like BOBB said you have to tinker w/ it. LSD pisses me off because its affect changes dramatically from 1 car to the next. So many variables involved weight and horsepower mostly.
