What kind of a domain name is .be.tf anyway? I traced it to Milpitas, CA, USA.

uh whenever i go on it has a lot of writing i can't understand and it says site under construction

 giles!

I dont knw what that sites about.. But all who voted poor are now in the 91% range.

ah, but yours deserves a 11 on a 10 scale, Giles, unlike the site Stealth Viper found, which is quite sad, honestly.

You will be my friend forever! In a macho, male-bonding way only of course! Nice custom status by the way.

I know that .be is belgian, and the site is in Dutch.

Yeah, but .be isn't the top-level domain. Unless "tf" could stand for something in Dutch. Where's a Dutch person when you need one?! ;)

It's actually just www.be.tf (a domain extension for the French Southern Teirritories), which is a free URL redirection service that opens a frame to the actual webpage, hosted by Homestead.

I voted poor and got an error message!

Was it "Thanks for voting. Unfortunately, the site design is so half-arsed that I can't actually accept your vote"?

Admit it, you tried to vote for "excellent", didn't you? And the site was so shocked it couldn't register your vote!

I would laugh, but the actual error message is funnier:

Error: 198.81.27. - 0dfc0e90c3170b06cca2cdb68559d63f

Nice! Helpful!

indeed, just like most Windows errors!

or maybe that's "1337" talking so none of us normal human beings can get the meaning of it :thatsodd:

what is kind of odd is that there's a bit of french on top of that page, right aside the poll. we've got French, English and Dutch...

That's because the .tf extension is reserved for the French Southern Territories. The Dutch aren't involved. Read my earlier post for more explanation... :)

Wow, these are some far-off lands. No wonder they can afford to lease out the domain to others.

http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/fs.html

Administrative divisions:

none (overseas territory of France); there are no first-order administrative divisions as defined by the US Government, but there are 3 districts named Ile Crozet, Iles Kerguelen, and Iles Saint-Paul et Amsterdam; excludes "Adelie Land" claim in Antarctica that is not recognized by the US

Great, we're going to war with France next. Stay Tuned.
