I searched under three diferent terms, yet all yielded no matches. (I am dead sure something like this existed at one time or another.)

What car absolutely sucked despite how much you paid for it, or what you thought it could do?

For a while, I thought the Auldi TT absolutely sucked, but that was before I learned of VCD. I believe the Calibra would be my most dissappointing car. For some reason, it just does not go.

After racing with, and against, the road versions of the NSX I'd have to say they're the biggest disappointment to me. I mean these things cost 90K+ Cr (in real life $89K MSRP new), they're supposed to be competing with Ferrari's yet they're no better than an RX-8 or a Evo for a quarter of the price.

Plus the NSX I won from the Amateur MR challenge came in a disgusting Barney purple color.

The NSX race cars on the other hand, love 'em.

hmm, this is a tricky one, i can think of loads that have dissappointed me but im sure a lot will disagree:

1: Mustang
2: Escudo
3: yaris :dopey:
4: Elise and Espirit

Why the Elise and the Esprit?

the elise, i dno, u pay a lot for it and it just so slow compared to most others in tht range i thought, and the same with the espirit, compared to other cars in its class its too slow imo

One could argue the Elise, until you turn. Same with the Esprit, but it depends upon circumstance.

Everybody loves the Elise, and I love MR cars... but I don't love the Elise. Everybody raves about the handling, but I find that mine has astonishingly poor grip compared to what I was expecting. Maybe I was expecting too much? It's supposed to handle like a kart, but mine squeals like a rat in a blender as soon as I turn the wheels.

The SVT Mustang, on the other hand, is a car with which I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone said it handles for crap, but I get along with it just fine. I wish I had bought it way earlier in the game and not listened to everybody.

After messing with the camber and LSD I managed to make it a great handling car. Although it will loose grip if it hits so much as a leaf on the tarmac. Strangely the ZZ-S is almost an exact replica of the Elise (even built in england at one point) except it seems much tamer. I think it's the Japanese bias. :conspiracy:

The Esprit was one of the only roadcars that could handle full tune (although still why would you want to?) and I had a 450bhp version that could kick most simmilar powered racecars arses and it was good on the tyres!

I swear the Cobra in GT3 handled on rails in stock form, although they have changed that in GT4 it handles very simmilar to my Cerebra but with slightly worse brakes because of the weight, still it's fun as hell to bottom the damn thing out on some of the jumps on the nurb sparks flying everywhere.

Wait a sec, I actually did something right? The SVT Cobra was my second car and it served me well, in fact, it still does.

The NSX in its original inception competed with Ferraris, but Ferrari since then has made good cars for a change. The funny thing is, the prices are set to mostly real world standards, but you don't get an interior in this game. You get driving physics with a car shell, so what you pay for isn't everything you would get in real life.

I'm surprised nobody likes the Elise that much. I used to hate it until I drove it in this game. I think it's very well-balanced and quick despite its low horsepower numbers. Are you guys talking slow after engine modifications or before? A full blown I4 doesn't compete very well against a heavily modified V8.

I found the Zonda Pagani Race car to be one of the most disappointing cars in the game once the road started to curve. The car looks cool and it's amazingly fast, but for some reason, it just doesn't want to turn even in GT form.

You know the Yaris can be alot better if you set it up right. The pro yaris cup was one of my favorite championships. :dunce:

I dunno if I should say much or not. Heck, I probally should just keep this to myself maybe.

But I feel there's no such thing as a dissapointing vehicle save for some things. Like price for one. Maybe that's why I would not consider the BMW 328i even though it's a good ride.

Also the NSX, though it's pricey, and at first it seams a dissapointment. I found it a blast to drive, all it's version perhaps including the Acura models.

Same for the Elise. The Elise 190 and SVT Cobra are actually equally fast around some tracks, if you push both hard. Me and Gabkicks tested said cars (him the Elise 190, me the SVT Cobra R), after stumbling on some article. The Elise is a fun car, most MR's are including the MR2 SW20 (one with 300bhp on sims)...

I could go on with examples, but the point is, I can't really find a worst or dissapointing car, every car is gonna have it's faults and strenghs, no car is perfect to everyone. Everyone is gonna find a car they like and a car they hate for whatever reason.

Let me be the first to say, I had a bias on 4WDs becuase I thought they were too easy to drive at first or I was kicking arse becuase of the fact power was going to the front tires, thus no one could have the kind of grip. I thought I was winning on another basis and not skill. GT1 was part of that to be honnest, you could not spin out (or least I could), till GT2 that showed me you could spin out with 4WDs, what's more, they do take a load of skill. After trying many times to drift with the cars, I'm more convinced, they do take no less skill to drive than any other drive train. Theyre also at times fun. My favorite 4WD's include the Lan evo IV, Impreza WRX's (namley the GC8 models), and the Opel Calibra I fell in love with thanks to Sega Touring car.

They all have their pros and cons. I try not to expect much of them if ever, just see how they are and see how I can improve on them, be it tuning, driver technique or both.

That's just my say on it, probally got some things off, -sigh-... oh well... till later.

i agree with the audi TT completley, it sucked till i bought a VCD. the CL600 it too loud tooo!
also also the SS trueno sucked...

I think the Tickford Falcon is a waste of time, to be honest.
I also dislike all NSX race cars, they sound like food processors.

-Marshy :dopey:

The Falcon is a hoot to drive unless tire wear is on. It's almost as bad as the C5-R in that case.

Try the Falcon on dirt and see if you still don't like it...

The Falcon was a lame car to drive with the DS2, but after I drove it with the DPF I started to like driving it alot more.

i haven't played in about 2 months, so i can't really remember which cars sucked, i only remember the
falcon,
s2000 let me down,
i think the s class mercedes,
and what Jetboys427 said, the calibra,
and the opel

II Oni II,

I initally felt the same way about the Zonda Race Car. It was extremely fast, very cool looking, which I can't see from driving inside, but the thing just wouldn't turn. Fiddled with the settings and just gave up on it. Last week I submitted a post on one of the threads and got a reply from Der Alta, one of the moderators and apparently an extremely knowlegable GT3 player, who gave me a link to his sight. deralta.net, and look at his Compendium. It has some great settings to get a handle on the Zonda. The only difference I made was keeping a 33 on the gear auto setting and left the rear toe at his initial setting. The increased camber and addition of front and rear toe, along with the increased down force really makes the big differnce. The stock spring setting seems to be where I would originally go wrong. Stock is just right for this car.
I used this car for the Professional Gran Turismo All stars against the 390 race car and the 787B, stock and had a blast. The only time I had to use any HP upgrades was at the Test Track. I just could not get the gear ratio right with enough take off to clear the slower pack (being everything but the 787B), get them off of my air, and attack the 787B before he's a quarter of the track ahead, and tooooo far ahead to think about catching, so I had to go with the Stage1.

I hope you try the Zonda again. Try out these suspension settings and I think you fall in love with the car. Let me know how it goes if you do.

i think the biggest diapointment was the calibra and the viper it just seemed such a tank until you tuned its suspension but then it was ok

~TankSpanker meanders in~

Silvia Varietta, most useless piece of...something...in the game, and looks horrible too.
Never been a big fan of the Storia either

I dont have much of a problem with many of the racecars others are listing off, then again I use them rarely

~TankSpanker wanders off elsewhere~

Tom's Chaser, hated that thing.

I also believe the Viper GTSR had some marginal dissappointment from me....It may had race car specs, but it felt constrained, like it was driven hard and put down wet. It takes forever to get up to speed.

Wow, the Oreca Viper? I love that thing to pieces. I'd have driven that through all of amateur and pro if I hadn't decided to vary cars with every series.

Funny how different people really do like different things.

Wow, the Oreca Viper?

Oh, no. Maybe I should have elaborated, but I meant the Concept Viper GTSR. The Oreca is a great ballanced car.

Lotus Esprit Sport350.

I bought that thing stock and raced it stock at Rome Circuit Endurance...AI kept up. Gave it a good tune-up.

IMO, just not fast enough for the cash paid.

Um... The Tickford is the only Aussie car here in GT3

I wanna stick 2 cars in here....

Spoon S2000 was really, really slow. Sure, it handled like none other. But that was probably because it was going to slow to have any problems turning. If I recall correctly, the stats page said that it hit peak HP at something like 11k rpm, but the redline in-race was 9k.

Nismo GT-R LM Road Car. That was a boat. I think I ran one race with it, and still won, but it was big, heavy, and slow. Sure, it's a Skyline, but it seemed like they enhanced all the BAD Skyline stuff and threw on a Nismo badge.

You mean the R33 LM car?? The silver one with black/blue rims right?? I kinda hated that car.....pretty slow too :(

No, I'm pretty sure he means the Nismo GT-R LM Road Car. I don't know why, but I still have it in my garage, too. An oogly brick, that one.

I think we're all talking about the same car here. Under the GTP car list, it's called the Nismo GT-R LM Road Car. In the game, it's pointed out as an R33. And yes, it has blue rims.
