I guess everybody has noticed there are huge differences in performance between cars of the same class. Initially, I hated it. But now that I gave it some more thought, I think it's okay to have cars for racing and cars for showing off. ;) At least you can see a cars performance and test drive it in advance. 👍 So, what's your opinion on this?

So far my only experience with this, has been with the A7 Cars. But there is a huge difference between the two Alfas and the Golf. The Alfas are very smooth and easy to drive, and the Golf is just plain horrible... imo anyway

Caterham A3 class - On windy tracks without long straights the car is way too fast compared to others, balanced out by the fact that its top speed is really low, but you find if you're driving the caterham the AI doesnt use the full top speed potential of their cars, for example the Ferrari 612 will go well over 200mph, though the AI will not do even close if you're in a caterham.

Ferrari 458 A2 Class - This car thrashes all of the other cars in A2, performance wise it is about equal to the Mclaren Mp4-12c (which is class A1). There is no challenge in A2 if you use this car.

Bugatti Veyron A1 class - Stuart (main rival) drives this car and off the start he just flies off into the distance, acceleration wise the car has no competitor, however stuart drives it really slow in corners, so you can win the series in just about every car, i did it with the Mclaren Mp4-12c. The handling on the Veyron is not the best but due to its massive straight line speed advantage (in a series that unlike previous is all about high speed), using this car completely kills any challenge in A1.

There are definately some very good cars. C4 leaves on the Delta, it's much faster. A6 is the domain of the TT/Subaru, 4WD makes the low powered cars rockets. The Ferrari 308 is also very good for C3, and very cheap. A1 and A2 are where cars really have overpowered/underpowered though. The Veyron (and variants), Koenigsegg CCXR and Zonda Cinque/Tricolor really belong in a different class.

Doesn't matter too much though... Most cars have a chance in single player (except for some of the obvious joke cars and some with erratic handling). Handling is a bit mad on some cars, that's for sure. The Golf is crazy, as is the RUF RT12. Very hard to win if the car wants to spin.

The slower cars in each class will come in handy in the online challenges, you can set them as restriction there. Already made a few for the Mustang, will make some more for other 'underdogs'. :)

Been checking out the community challenges, i dont own a standard Veyron, but i do own the Supersport, most of the top scores on the challenges are standard Veyrons (16.4 and Grand Sport) and Zonda Cinque, strangely the Super Sport doesn't have much of an advantage (if any at all) over the standard Veyron, from what i can tell, and there aren't many on the leaderboards.

Quite a bit strange.
