Just thought i'd throw this in here, as it has been missed by a lot of you in the thread all about my trip to the 'ring over in the rumble strip, and it's such a great race i want everyone to see it.

Its the finale of a lan i attended recently, which sees myself and Mr. Boss thrashing it out in Audi's for two laps on the Nurburgring.

Dustdriver takes all credit for the vid, nice one Bert :D:tup:

The video shows me running from 5th to 2nd, in behind Hugo, who then swaps places with me to the bitter end. His passing skillz are absolutely top drawer, and a joy to behold. Unless you're me. :grumpy:

Enjoy:

Best race ever. And I was in it....

At the back.... Miles behind everyone else... I was nearly lapped in the 2 lap race...

1 reply...... that's all i got.... just 1 reply..... granted, it was from supermod Daan..... but just 1? :irked:

I cant believe no-one could be arsed to say anything about such a great race.....

Had missed the initial post. Now watching the vid :)

Edit : well it looks like it was a great moment 👍
and nice driving from both of you.

It's just a pity that there is no way to know what car is driven by who. It's a bit hard to tell who is who in the first minute.

I completely missed this thread, sorry.

Well, just finished watching the whole thing and have to say that I loved it. Great vid of a really intense race. But super fast and clean driving from both of you. 👍

Were you guys using the DS2 or a wheel? Also, what the hell happened to Hugo on the 2nd lap when he "glitched" out of the track on that left turn? That was weird...

I have to say this vid made me really want to go to one of those things, probably the next one held in the UK.

Can you get here for tomorrow? 💡

I wouldn't mind, really. But it's certainly something I'd have to plan ahead. If things go as expected for me and you guys do another one, I'll most certainly try my best to be there.

(I'd love to do the trip by car so I could drive throughout the UK and "see it all", but I'm much more scared of driving on the left lanes than I am of flying) :ouch:

I missed this thread too.

Awesome driving from both of you. I am speachless at how you two could stick so tightly together without hitting each other. I would have knocked the other driver off several times already. :(

I notice Hugo is slightly faster on the last quater of the 'ring on both laps - I guess a little more practice is needed, Dave. :p!

Excellent race there and surprisingly clean dueling. Strangely reminds me of the first time through the M Series championship in the BMW races (iirc) where the last race is a lap on the Nurburgring, which went down to the last corners for me using an M3 CSL vs an M3 GTR.

Really looking forward now to getting a PS3 and GT5, the online racing should be awesome in properly organised series, can't wait after seeing this video.

sorry about not commenting in your thread earlier.... :guilty:

I just watched the video earlier and I'm just in awe...... That was really intence battle between the both of you. 👍 Both of you were really epual but I think Hugo got the better of you near the end. But yeah, a good clean race that is very enjoying to watch :)

Ahhhh, that's better.

Thanx for all the comments guys 👍

We were both using wheels, I on my trusty DFP, and Hugo on a G25 IIRC.

You can tell who is who by knowing that im the one with a camera on me throughout. Granted, it does get a little confusing at times, but that's GT4's camera for you.
Im the one in the Blue Audi.....

I think the "off" Hugo had on lap two at Metzgesfeld was caused by him running a tiny bit of kerb on the entry to the first left hander, which meant when he braked, his right rear wheel was on the grass, which sent him sideways, and made me soooo nervous/exstatic all at once. He fell off, hit a wall and wheelspun for a good while, but still only dropped 1.7 seconds, which he regained through Wipperman/Brunnchen, as i am indeed slower through there than Hugo. :irked:
Its the pass he made at Schwalbenschwanz that really made me realise just how good Hugo is.
Still, such a great race, im glad to have been a participant, and am very grateful to Dustdriver for supplying us all the footage.
Its just the result that Vexes me....

:irked:👍

Thanx for watching
