Ok not sure where I should be posting this but here it is;

I was doing a 5 lap race and after I was done I noticed I had 3 very close lap times. To be exact,

1:22.062 - Lap 3
1:22.128 - Lap 4
1:22.050 -Lap 5

I read over the trophy description and from what I understand I should have it. But I don't. Best lap time is 1:22.050. All 3 are consecutive. Lap 3, 4 then 5. Within 0.200 seconds? Yeah, 0.078 to be exact. Am I missing something or did it bugger up on me?

Not sure, but I think it is 3 consecutive laps after the reference lap, meaning 4 in total.

Your third lap(lap 5) was the fastest. You have to do say a 1:20.2 then 1:20.3 then 1:20.4.

I got it first with the Karts round Tokyo Bay and since iv done it a few times in endurance races.

I didn't see the lap times myself, I got mine after the race was over.

+1 on that. Did mine in the beginner level karting special event when I first got the game.

I also did it without realizing on the GT championship. Completely went into a trance.
Consistent lap times usually mean good driving.

I did it on one of the easier tracks, at the Indianapolis, in the 10 lap race i extreme - Dream Cars with a Minolta, well I did also 5 laps consecutive within .2 second

What you need to do is set a lap time on lap 2 i reckon.. then the following 3 laps need to be within 0.2s of that time

Here's how I did this....

Human Stopwatch - Nice easy one this one. Go into Arcade > Time Trail > World Tracks > Superspeedway Indy. Then pick a car, I went with the Lancia Delta HF Integrale but in theory it should work with any car. Set transmission to manual (that's important) and make sure the racing line is switched on and start the time trail. You'll start from a rolling start, so accelerate but keep car in third gear. This should limit you to about 100mph.

Now simply drive round (following the racing line) and set a lap time. Once you cross the finish line a ghost car will appear of the previous lap time. All you have to do is follow this car so when you cross the finish line you are almost on top of it. I found I never needed to change gear and left it in 3rd the entire time. Also an external viewpoint might help keep this ghost car in view at all times. It doesn't matter if you drop back during the lap, just make sure your right with it when you cross that line. Do three laps like this and the trophy will pop up.

Here are my lap times for reference. I got this on my first attempt so should be a nice easy one to get

1. 1:25.948
2. 1:26.010
3. 1:25.941
4. 1:26.049

Complete three consecutive laps with time within 0.2 seconds of the Best Lap Time

Complete three consecutive laps (that's three laps) with time within 0.2 seconds of the Best Lap Time (that's a different lap). Four laps in total. Note that the best lap doesn't have to be part of the sequence, merely that you need to set three consecutive laps that are within 0.2s of it.
