Well i cant really say anything which hasnt already been said in this thread but i hope you and your family are safe and well!

It's the 5th today , has anyone posted news of Kent's Welfare . Jesus Christ hope he's Okay & let's all pull through this the wiser . Stay Strong !¬ PEACE !

My thoughts and hopes go out to Kent and all the other suffering people affected by this disaster!
I wish them all the strenghth they need to for the days, weeks and months to come!

I don't know the dude, but I bet he's a good guy. (You'd have to be real evil if you diserve what all those people there got). I hope he's ok. But considering the info so far it doesn't look bad.

Been a couple of days so guess I'd best post an update. THANX to GTP members Sough & bhawk776 I found some new avenues to search.

The best news I can post is that NONE of Kent's family member's names has shown up on any "Bad" list I've found. 👍 The sad news for his family members that I AM in touch with is that at this time, they still know NO MORE than we do! :indiff:

PLEASE keep Kent & his Family in your thoughts...O.G. :D

Come on Kent, pull through this, we're all praying that you and your family are safe. Hope to see you post good news soon.

That is definitely cause for concern. Let's just keep hoping for the best.

Solid Lifters
Slidell, Louisiana (Click on the squares for images)

West of Slidell

That's a shot of where he lives. Sidell is just to the east of there. This is where Kent lives. You can see the destruciton, and it looks survivable.

I'm a bit confused as to where I should be looking. The first link has one square inland, and then a few along the coast (quite a long stretch of coast) which one is nearest?

The second link has just a little corner and I can't make much out.

Which squares should I be clicking on?

I'm not very religious either.....but I hope Kent and family are OK

It may be awhile before we hear from him with no electricity and barely passable roads. For all we know. he is out helping folks as best he can.

Be strong.

Having known Kent for a while here at GTP I'm getting worried. Other GT boards that I post at have had posters from the N.O. area pop up in the last day or so. I am going to keep the faith and pray he is OK. God speed Kent. If you need cash, send me a PM.

When you click on the links, they are an area of map of where Kent lives. Slidell in the first and Mandeville in the second. He lives west of Slidell, East of Mandeville. The blue is water, the Gulf, and the peach is the land of Louisiana and the green lines are roads and highways. The squares lined in black are clickable links to photos of that same exact map area. Like this... http://ngs.woc.noaa.gov/storms/katrina/24618543.jpg that is a picture of the area on the map with a sqaure. Click in the center of the "square" to see the pic of that area on the map. The second link only has a few squares.

Click on the squares to the far left of the Slidell page, and far east of Mandeville page. This is the area where Kent lives. I'm not exactly sure where he lives, but this is the general area.

been keeping up with the destruction of katrina on the news. oprah winfrey has been showing our tv stations how crap it was to be in the dome with no power, light or facilities. its no wonder kent decided to stay home. i also heard that they think it will be weeks before power is resumed!! dont you think oprah should run for presidant kent???? 👍 i'll await your answer on that one...

i know that your ok, and i'm sure its just a matter of time for life to get back to some level of normality before your back here with your wit and stories of just what it was really like. i know i cant even begin to comprehend. just so you know tho buddy, you wont be getting any special treatment from me because of it!!!! :sly: xxxxxx

Alex Chilton, frontman of 70's rock group Big Star, and general all-round cool dude has been missing since the Hurricane struck, but news reports this morning have confirmed that he is alive and well, and now in a hotel in Houston  He'd been riding out the whole thing at home... Just shows how hard it is to get word out that you're OK... anyway, a piece of hopeful news 👍

Kentucky is expecting to take in some of the people from the New Orleans area and place them in a temporary shelter for 24 hours and then find them an apartment and jobs.

This morning on the radio they said the temporary shelter would have phone and internet access so that these people could contact friends and family to let them know that they are okay and where they are. Hopefully wherever Kent is will have this too and he can drop us a line letting us know he is doing well. Of course GTP might be the last place he thinks to contact when he is worrying about friends and family. Either way, if everyone is being set up like this around the country he will hopefully be in contact before too long.

Where ever you are, Kent, take care and God bless.

Hope ya return to the track Kent, and that your family makes it through this. All gulf coast residents are thought of each day as things go.

No new updates about him? By now most people apparently have been evacuated. If his family still hasn't heard anything from him by now I would really start to get worried even more.

If it all goes well, he could be on his way to my home state or might already be here, in the astrodome in houston or inside the reunion arena in dallas. someone post a picture of him and a link where I can give him a PM. I will keep on the lookout if I spot him.

"may the wings of the protector shelter you."

Although I've never had any dealing with Kent, my thoughts go out to him, his family and the other families devastated by Katrina. Also Kent where ever you may be I hope you safe and happily playing GT4 heheh:P.

Remain + ppl

It may not be my place to suggest this, but someone has mentioned something along these lines already. There are a large number of users here at GTPlanet, and a great many of us have had pleasant, informative, and friendly conversactions with Kent. He has been here a long time and GT Planet wouldn't be the same without him. That being said, there is probably a great many things that Kent needs before he can even think of trying to get on the internet again. I imagine, due to the situation in that area, that Kent is going to need our help much like he helped us. Should we take up a collection? Or donations? Should we have some money and items set aside to get to him as soon as we know he is alright. Much to think about. I think we could make a large difference in Kent's life, if he is in the unfortunate predicament that he needs our help.

I hope and pray, that Kent and his loved ones are safe. This thing has been a huge mess.I'm sure all of us are hoping to hear from him soon, lets just hope for the best.
